Received a call from Spectrum offering to upgrade his internet for a deposit of $249.95 which would be refunded in 3 months.  The upgrade would qualify him for a discount of $30.00 per month for 24 months.  He was to call 803-599-8851 to set up the payment.

This is the same call I got today except there was no refund. I knew it was a scam quickly as he said my cable box software needed to be updated and to press the "Guide" button 3 times to start the process. Now that made me laugh but I let him go on. He then said that I needed to pay a fee of $250 for them to do the upgrade and for me to get the discount. I told him I had no money and he said to hold. He came back and said since I was such a loyal customer, they would make it $100! I told him to shove it and he said I was rude. He then said he was shutting my service down to which I told him to f'ing do it. I reported it to Spectrum. The number he called from was 779-246-8770.

I received a phone call I thought was from Spectrum. I had been trying to get a better rate on my phone. The caller said she was from Spectrum. She asked for my Social Security number.I gave out the entire number. She also asked for my credit card number for my payment. I did not give my credit card number. I called Spectrum and was told they did not call me. I contacted the Credit Bureaus and my bank. I am concerned that I gave out personal information. The phone number in my caller ID was 440-201-4150. The caller gave me two additional phone numbers. 845-579-8109 and 855-684-9760.

At 11:34 am yesterday we received a phone call from a local number. The call was a recording about saving $3 on my Spectrum cable bill.

I received a phone call saying it was Spectrum. I was asked if I had any issues with service or billing by Tia. I said yes the stations pixels, freezes and the sound cuts out and the billing is getting expensive with them keep going up. Tia said she could give us a $25.00 credit monthly for 2 years. Asked me to confirm the bill account #, security code address and phone #. She then preceded to ask for my husbands SSN #, then mine because I was the one she was speaking with. I unfortunately gave it to her. I was also asked for my email address. When she started to spell out my email address I became suspicious. Then she asked for a credit card to pay $99.00 for an up front fee for the next month then I would get $25.00 off each month for the next 2 years. I asked about the up front fee and got no clear explanation from her and told her I pay by mail and won't give her a credit card. She said she had to talk to her manager who got on the phone and said his name was Chris Anderson. I told him the same thing and he hung up. I called Spectrum and they don't make calls if it's a bundle and don't ask for SSN #'s.

I went in the store to get Internet service. Did not want any other service! The sales person in there signed me up for some mobile service that I keep getting billed for! Never received a mobile device never signed up for a mobile service! Fraud fraud fraud!! Customer service is no help! I’ve called them five times spoke to five different people that said they were taking care of it and I’m still getting statements for bills due!!

I wanted to report a possible scam phone call. The caller stated they were with Spectrum. I have Spectrum. They ask you to bundle to save money. I gave my birthday. My caller ID showed Spectrum with phone number ************. I usually don't answer. I called Spectrum because I needed a remote. I was told they don't use that number.

I fell for this yesterday and it was an area code in NY but I know Spectrum is national so I listened to their special promotion, which was saying they were working with AT&T and I could get a special rate for 2 years, plus since I was a long time customer a $250 gift card, etc. There would be a one-time installation fee of 19.98 and they needed a credit card for that, but guy also asked for the 3-digit code on back of card and then said they needed to verify my credit rating and asked for last 4 digits of my social security number. He also wanted my Driver's License number, etc. They set up appointment this Sat. for installation. I thought it sounded suspicious and called my credit card company to check recent payments and it was ok but I decided to cancel card and get a new one! I did try to call back on the number he gave me and it went to a recording so I left message that I wanted to cancel the service and that the credit card number I gave them was now invalid.

The individual identified herself as Christine. She was calling about some Spectrum promotion??? I know this is a scam because she made me press 1 for more info or simply hang up the phone if you don't need more info.

Being besieged by spectrum cable at least three times a month. Ongoing since March. Different telephone numbers. On occasion when I do answer, callers become beligerent.

A woman with a very foreign accent called and offered me a discount on my cable bill, to $145 a month, no wait, $135 a month, then finally her price went down to $130 a month. Same service, stating that AT&T and Spectrum are working together to give their customers the best available rates.  I did not know that AT&T and Spectrum had merged? She gave her name as only "Alex" with a call back number of 315-407-9043. I tried calling it and got a strange voicemail.

Spectrum cable company is soliticing our home phone number (256-351-0435) for a few weeks now. They are using bogus phone numbers on their calls that show up as a different computer selected local number each time. The number appears to be local but shows up as out of area on caller id. It is a computer generated voice and I hang up as soon as I hear it.

- Pasadena, CA, USA

They call you claiming they are Spectrum and ask, "Can you hear me now?" They are trying to get "YES" out of you.

I received an email from spectrum saying that I must update my payment information as soon as possible to avoid suspension of service. Must click on below link only to update information. The link had word misspelled which caught my attention. I immediately contacted Spectrum to question the email and was told it is a scam.

I received this email from Spectrum (Charter Communication). We do currently have an account with Charter, but due to misspellings, punctuation, and beginning a sentence with lower case letter, I knew this was a scam. I am sending to you to help prevent others from being scammed by being tricked to give out their account payment information.

they keep calling us as a spectrum bussiness support and when we dont need any support.

we told them not to call back but still call us

SCAM ALERT!! SPECTRUM CUSTOMERS !!!

We got a call yesterday, Fri. April 17, 2020, from a David Smith (he had a foreign accent). He offered us a deal that we could save $70 on our bill every month. He was going to cancel our present plan and sign us up on a new plan and also give us new cable boxes. And someone would come out in 7 days and set it all up. Then he said he would check into to double check and call us back in a couple of hours. In the mean time we called the number he called on. "number is disconnected" ......Well, he did call back....today, Sat. April 18, 2020. David Smith again. Conversation continued to him asking us for our Spectrum security number. RED FLAG! Then We asked him about the "disconnected" number and he said he didn't understand why that happened. He pressed for our security number. We told him no and hung up.

The numbers he called on are:

419-373-9438 or 419-298-9522

We called SPECTRUM to check on this "deal". They DO NOT make offers over the phone. All offers are mailed out. And, besides, they are not sending techs out now during the Covid-19 pandemic. There is NO such offer out there.

BE WARE! Don't give out security numbers, etc. to an unverified caller. Pass this along!!

- Killeen, TX, USA

Don’t call that number get your info.

Spectrum charged me 10 dollars for a home phone that I never used. I called and told them to cancel the phone service and asked for a credit to my acct and was told no. I told them thats not right and thats stealing. I would like to be refunded back for paying for services that I didn't use.
