This is the voice recording text of the phone call I received. July 24, 2019. Many other people have received this scam. I have never answered the phone.

"The reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that we just suspend your social security number because we found some suspicious activity. So if you want to know about this case, just press one. Thank you. This call is from the Department of Social Security Administration. I received a phone calls from several numbers 1800-97806598,1800-250-9334 stating that my social security number had been compromised and if i did not contact them my social security would be blocked permanently. They left a voicemail, second time I answered and connected with a representative who had a "Indian" accent and asked for my name. I immediately hung up and called the BBB because it seems suspicious.

Second phone number that has called with same scam. This one is a recorded woman asking for all your information to “see if you qualify “ for SSDI. I started laughing because it’s so clearly a recording then hung up. The government does not call you......ever......unless they are calling you BACK. As far as SS Disability Insurance goes, they do not recruit recipients. You must apply and it is very rigorous. It took me two years!

Tried to get my social security number and was telling me my complamised. I talked to a lady who said her name was joyce lee and that her id number was 813013. Said my id was used in Texas.

I was called 8 times today from Texas phone #'s. The one time they left a voice message the message claims that my social security number has been suspended due to suspicious activity. Several hours later my partner started receiving the same calls. I did not press 1, as requested.

This was a robocall. As soon as it got to "your Social Security Number is being suspended" I recognized the scam and hung up. I'm reporting it in case it helps find or prosecute the scammer. I assume they wanted money but didn't listen long enough to know for sure.

I received a voicemail from 1-800-642-7115 saying they were with the Social Security. They said if I did not call back they would suspend my social security. I did not answer since I didn't recognize the number, and I know Social Security doesn't make phone calls anyway. I was a victim of a recent Capital Once breach, so I think it may be related.

I received a call from someone stating to be from the Social Security office, when I called the number back. When the number originally called, they did not leave a message. I asked why they were doing that, and they did not have an answer for me, but they did ask if I called that number before.

Received several calls from different numbers, each with a different recording, all stating my social security information had been compromised and to please press a certain number to speak to a representative. All of the recordings were in a computer generated voice, two were in slightly broken English. Did not press any buttons, hung up and blocked the number but they kept calling from different numbers. The last number actually had one too many numbers in it! (the last phone number I listed but with a 1 after the 800) If I wasn't sure about it being a scam well then I certainly was after that third call.

I am assuming it was a phishing expedition, was not sure if they categorize it as phishing if it is a cell phone rather than malware or an email redirection.

I havereceived 3 phone calls today saying they are social security and that my number has been suspended due to suspicious activity. I need to press 1 to learn more about this case. I DID NOT press 1 !!! The calling numbers were: 844-627-8947, 800-901-6654, and 800-350-1046.

Received an automated phone call saying it was SS and they put a freeze on my SS # because it was possibly compromised. Then later on during the day a lady i work for received the exact same call? I just thought it was strange.

Consumer got a call stating that her social security number that has been used on the South border of Texas. The first name of the agent after consumer was on the phone, was Amanda. Consumer heard a lot of background noise on the line, and the call went to a live person. As soon as the consumer heard this, she hung up.

Got a call two days ago.... says it's a call from Social Security and we will take a lien from social security. I hung up. The phone number was a 206 area code.

Have received three phone calls from "Social Security" stating that you need to call 844-309-6002. They need to ask you some questions or your social security benefits will be terminated. I do not answer the phone, they do leave a message. I received two phone calls on 22 Jul and have received one today, 23 Jul.

I got a pre-recorded call from Social Security saying my number was blocked due to too much incorrect activity on it and to call 716-220-8584. I called back, an Indian man answered and asked for my social security number. I told him I would not give him that, and he hung up.
