Social Security Reports & Reviews – Page 30 (976)

On May 30th, my 70 year old husband got a voicemail from a man who said he was with Social Security. He told him his car was in Texas, and US Marshals were looking for him. The car was involved with drugs. So my husband called back. A man told him to go to CVS and get a Google card and read the back of it. First he went to the bank, then he went to CVS and bought a Google card. The guy stayed on the phone with him. He lost $250. The county sheriff wouldn't take a police report. Google wouldn't help us. CVS said they couldn't help him because he gave the number away. The bank gave him a new card, new pin number. Social Security told us to report it to BBB.

This number called several times and left a msg that they were the Social Security Administration and that my identity had been stolen. They had my last 4 digits of my ssn and my correct address. They said they had been listening to my phone calls for the last 3 months and that someone in Michigan had stolen my identity and purchased a car and inside the car they found blood, drugs, and my driver's license. Also, they said my address was going to be raided if I didnt take care of the problem asap.

I did not reply or click on the number. Therefor I don't know specifically what they would be trying to get, but assumed it would be identity information etc.

Had 2 calls. Both left a voice mail about my social security number. My SSN could be suspended due to suspicious activity. I was told to press #1 but I did not.

No call back number was given. Each call had a different number on caller ID.

I called the first number: 800-718-5059, it was not a working number.

I called the second phone number: 800-776-5301 and reached ScamPulse.com in Dayton.
