In 2020 She advertised that she made custom tulle robes, though the price was steep, I told her I wanted to support her as a local creator. Before I purchased from her I found out that the images she said were her clients were actually taken from people who posted Amazon reviews of the product she claimed to have made . She was lying. She didn't make the robe and instead was drop shipping for double the cost that amazon was selling them for. She couldn't show me any progress of her making the gown, she refused to tell me who her photographer was or send me other pictures from the shoot, and when I confronted her, she blocked me on her business account.
As a potential client this was jarring, but I kept quiet because the dishonesty made me uncomfortable. However recently she posted a set of costume wings that she said she made. But yet again, she stole the work of another artist. This time from a small Ukrainian business, MacWings. When I confronted her that the wings were bought she continued to lie inconsistently (that Macwings had time to help her make them, that she bought the pattern from MacWings... etc.). I talked to MacWings, they said they don't sell patterns, they don't have time to help people, and they did sell Sewrenity the set of wings she claimed to make herself. After this she blocked me again.
I tried talking to her about this privately and explaining why she should be honest, but she refused to admit to what she did or act with integrity. She is falsifying her skills to get clients.
I understand that I personally did not lose any monetary value as I realized I was being scammed before I went through with the transaction. I shared a google review of my experience and she replied in such a toxic way, claiming I have a vendetta against her when really I was trying to warn other people about her lies. She sent her friends after me to harass me on Instagram and through a nasty google review.
I have talked to a few others who had similar experiences with her tailoring work. Melissa gaslights her customers to keep them quiet, uses legal jargon and elaborate stories to lie, then sends her friends after people who leave negative reviews, and pretends to be innocent.
I have a large amount of proof on this that I am more than willing to send. However, my evidence is screenshots that cannot be summarized into one image. I have attached one. In this one she is claiming these are her clients, while I have another image from amazon where these are actually stolen from reviews.
I don't know what else I can do about her. I tried talking to her personally and telling her that she needs to stop but she continued to deny everything. My heart breaks because I am seeing posts of other people getting scammed by her, but her manipulation and group of people willing to back her up are so overwhelming and toxic I don't know what else I can do to help people.
