Has anyone else been a victim to these guys recently in Toronto?

• Aug 17, 2023

We hired 2 movers to move some stuff within the house. They came and were immediately Rude. All we needed was a few couches moved and they could not understand that. I instructed them on what to do and they lied down on the couch when I wasn’t looking and started playing iPhone games. I politely asked if they could continue their job and they moved the carpet from under the couch by ripping it out. They scratched the walls because they flipped a couch while doing so. I was nice enough about it to just ask for them to put everything back since this was clearly not working out, and they said hold on I’m getting a call, walked outside to answer it, and never came back. They were gone! And I handed them $300 as a “cash only” deposit 10 minutes earlier.

Now I have had no progress on the place, I am down $300 and my house is a mess.

I hired some company called Moving & Delivery off Kijiji in April 2021

Some guy named RONALDO Quoted me 3 guys & truck $75/hr + 1/hr travel time to job.

Ronaldo Used:
416-671-9987 cell number.
416-566-9814 business number
Email: [email protected]

3 guys show up with a truck. The ring leader is as nice and charming as pie. Comes to check out all the stuff you have to move. Says, this will be no problem!

Started the move, comes in and asks me to sign some contract. I actually READ IT and asked what these extra charges were that are listed? That's not what I was quoted. He said "don't worry about it, you have your $75/hr price plus 1hr travel time as arranged with Ronaldo". So I reluctantly signed it. I should have crossed off all the clauses but trying to be 'nice' I didn't! BIG MISTAKE! They probably would have taken off and I would have been better off. But no...

Then Mr Charming says they need a $450 deposit before starting, so I give it to him. I did take a picture when I gave it to him saying, I just want proof that I gave it to you. He says " Don't worry, I will write it here on the contract. Which he does.

They started loading. After a while I go down to check the progress and I notice that only 2 guys are doing the work. I thought the main guy was staying downstair actually sorting the stuff in the truck. But NO! The 'main' guy is sitting in the truck. He says that he is "only the driver"! I said I asked for 3 movers, not 2 and a driver! Called Ronaldo, he said he would call him and nothing changed. I also ask where the moving blankets are that Ronaldo promised and they said they didn't have any with them?! They did not bring anything as promised! Not even one blanket! grrr!

The 2 movers finally load my stuff up and then Mr. Charming tells me to go get my car and to follow them to my new place which is only 1km away! I say can't I just meet you there in 5? He says no. You have to follow us. Company policy. I get in my new COMPANY car which is a Mercedes (this for sure didn't help me, meanwhile I just sold my 1999 Cougar so that's what I would have been driving a week ago) and we drive off. I then get a call from Mr Charming, the 'driver' that they are hungry and need to stop for McDonald's (meanwhile her could have walked there in 5 minutes to pick them up some up since he wasn't doing a thing all day?!). I say ok, there's one a block North on Yonge/Charles St. They go get food and come back and then I get a call saying that they need $400 deposit to unload. I had calculated my move wouldn't even cost $700, so I didn't even have that much since I already gave him $450. So the guy tells me to go to the bank machine. I kept asking why I can't pay when it's done? He says company policy. So I reluctantly go and pull out the money and give him another $400. He then goes back in the truck for another 10-15 mins. I walk up and say 'we've been here for 25 mins, can we get going since I am getting charged by the hour?' He says 'sure in a bit'. I sit in my car and wait with a friend and my dog. He comes out of the truck and then hands me an invoice for $2680.50! Tells me I still owe him $1850.00! I'm like "what are you talking about? I already paid you". He says he won't unload the truck until I give him the money! I tell him I don't have that kind of money since I just paid first and last month's rent!
I tell him that I am going to call the cops, he says "go right ahead. If you don't pay me I am going to unload all of your stuff on this corner!"

We are talking about a 24ft truck 90% full! I started freaking out and crying. Again I tell him I didn't have it.. He didn't care. Told me to go pull it out on my credit cards! I said they were maxed out (lie). He told me to call the credit card company and ask for an EMERGENCY INCREASE with my limit. I literally started having a nervous breakdown on the street and went back in my car. I was crying and losing my mind. He calls me from the truck and we start arguing on speaker and my dog got so scared she started shaking and freaking out.

My friend then says 'let me take the dog to your new place (5 min walk away)'. I had to agree because she was so stressed too. He leaves and I call the cops. They didn't show for almost an HOUR! The guys didn't care and just sat there in the truck.

When the cops came it was a man and a woman. The female officer was the lead. She asked me what happened, so I told her all of the above. Then she went to talk to him. He's sitting on the fence (seen in the pics below). He then starts getting angry with her and then uses the "race" card saying.. oh.. you're on her side because she's white! She was very alpha and said 'No, I am not'. They argued a bit and then he opened the door to show her my stuff. In the contract it said there was a $45 charge for items over 75lbs! He put that I had 25 ITEMS over 75lbs ($1125)! I didn't even have 1 thing over 75lbs! It was insane! She said she "couldn't tell" because she couldn't see what I had! I was shocked.

So he billed me 5 hrs of moving time, plus an AUTOMATIC more 5 hrs to unload which wasn't in his contract (which we hadn't even done yet), yet the cop said nothing! He was going to charge me travel time $75 but then scratched it out?!?!? He also charged me 15% service charge (he said was for Insurance, meanwhile they told me they were insured and bonded on the phone and it said the same in their AD), plus $302.73 for 'Tax'.

The COP then tells me I HAD TO PAY HIM! She said "I am sorry but I can't help you. You can just take him to court!" I lost my mind. I told her you are helping this guy rob me on the street with a fake bill and moving scam! All she told me was the license plate was registered to a business and to take a picture of it. She wouldn't give me any other information!

I then had to go back to the bank machine and take out another $1850 to pay this crook! When I came back she said "hand it to me and I will hand it to him!" So I literally watched her count it out to him on the street one by one. I literally was shaking! I really didn't have this money so it was on credit.

Then the cop says to me that she will "help me out" by now "following them to my new place 400m down the road to make sure that he "starts unloading" my stuff." That she wasn't even supposed to do that, but she felt 'sorry' for me. I was dead. I might has well have died from a heart attack.

So we get to my new place and he backs in. We are now over 2-3hrs late for my elevator booking, but the building let it slide. The 2 guys start unloading and the cop leaves. My friend comes down, he argues with the main con man, but I tell him to stop or else they will now break my stuff too!

I go upstairs to await the first load. Nothing. I come down and I see they are piling my stuff besides the elevator and down all of the halls from the moving room to the elevator.

I pull up my Mercedes and park it in front of the moving truck away from the front entrance (in a T formation). The main crook says, you can't leave your car there. I said "yes I am until this is all over and my stuff is upstairs". I go upstairs.

Finally one load comes up, then a second load. Things are starting to happen. My friend goes downstairs to get my new LG OLED TV to make sure that they don't drop it, and brings it upstairs. Argues with main guy at the same time, calling him a scammer etc.. An hour goes by.

I tell him I have to take the dog out quickly and to keep an eye on my stuff since I wouldn't put it past them to steal something. I leave for a few mins and am walking back towards the building and then all of a sudden my friend comes running out of the building saying "I think the Movers just TOOK OFF! I saw a white truck leaving from the Balcony"

I look over and I no longer see the 26ft truck in the moving dock! I run over and am shocked! THEY ARE GONE! Somehow they managed to get out of the garage even though my car was parked in front of them to block that from happening. Then some woman rushes over and says "I saw them leave (more like helped them)! She said that the 'driver' drove over the 16" high curb and jumped the mini wall with the truck to get out! That she heard them ruin their truck a bit on the bottom but he got out! It turned out the white pole that was there on the meridian wasn't a fixed metal pole like I thought.., but rather a white plastic one that moves if you hit it (like a boxing bag)! So he just drove right over it when he jumped the wall!

I look over and they had left a trail of 90% my stuff all over the main floor of the condo building leading up to the elevator! I mean it was everywhere! I had kept asking them to keep bringing up my stuff and not stockpiling it. He said sure and started bringing it up! They had only brought up about 3 loads when they took off! I was devastated. I couldn't believe what had just happened! I had soooo much stuff and it was all still downstairs including my couch, bed, boxes...everything! I honestly started shaking. It was just me and my friend and he has a bad back and arm!

It ended up taking us until Midnight to move everything upstairs with the help of my sister who showed up at 9pm to help!

This company goes by multiple names, numbers emails, and etc. They scammed me of $1200. They drove me to the gas station and demanded I pay them $1000 after a $200 deposit. They were carelessly holding my items when I was putting some boxes downstairs, I walk up to see ALL of my items scattered on the street, and already drove off! If anyone who has fell victim to this scam as I have and want to see justice from this email me at [email protected]

Luckily only lost $300 deposit as I asked them to stop midway. Seemed way too sketchy.

These guys are professional con artists.

I'd like to join any efforts to report them / see justice. Maybe we can arrange a party where we invite the guy back and scam him back.

Hi there,

I recently fell victim to Quebec Inc from a Kijiji ad posing as ''All Around Movers'' out of $1200 - and they threw all my belongings on the street. I want to see justice from this as well feel free to email me at [email protected] so we can discuss more.

Best

Report them to Kijiji and get their numbers banned. They will have to keep changing numbers to post again

We found them on Kijiji. Told us it'd cost $350 for our move yesterday - supposed to be from 6-8pm. They arrived at 7:30 and we'd already brought the bulk of the things downstairs so they could easily load it up and go. They proceeded to put our belongings into their U-Haul and then drove far away from the pick up / drop off spot. They then told us we'd need to pay them another $600, or they were going to leave our expensive belongings in the rain on the side of the road at a busy intersection, Downton Toronto. Reluctantly, we paid them what he asked... then 5 minutes later, our total was almost $1400 and we needed to pay that, or the risk the same fate of damage to our entire lifes belonging which was packed into their U-Haul. They were so disrespectful and said so many derogatory things. We are 100% onboard with joining any legal action against these fraudulent men. We have more videos and pictures.

We called police on them at the Gas Station where they asked for a second deposit (which I paid) and 5min later he came with a final bill of $1600. I called the cops, but cops recommended to pay the full amount, as they are charging for each extra hours.

Because we paid the guy in front of the Cops, while taking video, we got everything moved into the destination and second floor. Even the black guy in the photo ended up working ! Anyways

Happened to me 2 years ago. I don't think cops can do anything about it. The only thing that can be done, I think, is get media attention and let other people know so that no one else will make the same mistakes again

Hi everyone,

I recently fell victim to this scam as well and had all my belongings thrown on the street, as well as been out of $1200. If we can all start discussing this or take some sort of action I would like to bring justice to this. Feel free to email me back at [email protected].

Scammer indeed. Moved some hardwood flooring from store to the house with an agreement for 300CAD and charged 890 + 15% incurance + tips + per steps + + = 1490, after the hardwood was loaded in the truck. Smoked pot and took naps in the truck to charge for 5 hours, where it was only a hour worth of work.

I'm in

I’d like to join the lawsuit too.

I’d like to join. Got the same experience yesterday. Scammed for 1200$ just for half an hour job. I paid 800$ to unload my stuff on the street!

We would love to join as we also got scammed today by these scammers! Please let us know how to help you.

We would love to join the lawsuit - do you have contact info for these people?

CHARGED ME $3035.14 FOR A SMALL HOME MOVE TO 5 MIN AWAY. Threatened to charge each hour more if I do not pay them remaining balance (800$ deposit) firstly taken. Broke my TV Stand, Blender, etc. Not professional at all. 2 guys barely did their job properly and they charged me for 3 people per hour? This has all been documented and I will be reporting this to the police since they took $3035.14 without reimbursing any broken item plus false advertising. All the calculations written are not accurate it is in their favour of gaining money and they threatened to withhold my property and charge more. I have all information on file and video + photographic evidence. One guy even made fun that we were being evicted. They broke a GLASS blender which shattered outside and did not throw it away! They moved it to the side, now anyone can get hurt. Even broke my TV stand. And rude to seniors.

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear what you've been through, and have fallen victim to this company as well. I want to bring this to justice, feel free to reach me at [email protected] if you are interested.

They scammed me yesterday. The same way...

be carefull with Nordique Mover’s Inc. scammer ! got my furniture into the truck and would not give my furniture back . took $2100 cash from me and dumped everything in the lobby and took off. they were about to take off with my furniture . scammer scammer . one of their worker who found their ads on Kijiji got scammed . they showed up with U-Haul rental . there I should have noticed that something is wrong. they take my furniture in the truck and took the deposit of $400 then they went to gas station and would not move or give my furniture back unless their get paid in cash another $1700 … I called cops and their fake supervisor would not answer our calls and keep hanging up on us . the driver was with the supervisor. they start playing game and my bf said they wont give our staff back and will take it to the yard . so he decided to pay them and we are lucky that they did not take off with the furniture. and they dumped it in the lobby. I guess bcz we had the U- Hal plate #

Hi Anna,

I fell victim to the same company, but this time they posed as ''All Around Movers'' in my city. I have the same situation found them on Kijiji, they used a Uhaul, scammed me of $1200 etc. Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you want to join in on any efforts of bringing this company down.

I got the same experience

BUYER BEWARE AND RUUUUNNNNN...

I contacted this company, and Ray spoke to me for a few days. I decided to give them a moving business for a charity organization office move. 2 guys at $45/hr, or because I asked for 3 guys for $70/hr, we agreed on the time. I was told I could pay by check or e-transfer. I got a text they would only take cash; email is not working (tip #1). The driver started calling me a private number in the morning (tip #2). When the mover and the guys came, they gave me paperwork to sign only after you gave a deposit (tip #3). I read it and saw $45, 3 men, stair fee, heavy item fee (tip #4). I asked questions; the driver said it's whatever Ray had agreed with; I am just paying a deposit (tip #5). They asked for $350. Then once they finished loading, they asked for another $250, cash only, I obliged (tip#6). We are going and where we are is a 5 mins drive away. When the guy got to the light, he turned right rather than left (tip #7). I followed him and asked if everything was OK, then he said they wanted to get food, fair enough.

5 mins later, he came with a bill of $1700, saying the boss asked me to pay; otherwise, they would not move (tip #8); I called and asked for Ray, they said they could not find him; he was on the plane etc. I begged; they wanted $1000 extra cash. I said I don't have much; they asked me to collect on my credit card, bank card, ask a friend. My friend said he could send them a $400 e transfer; they refused; the driver said he was not moving but could drive to Mississauga to pick up the cash.

After 2 hours, I gave up and left!, they called me to come with an additional $400, so they could move my stuff back to the original location, I refused!. I told them I would pay $400 if they dropped my things at the destination.

Next thing, they offloaded some of our stuff into the parking lot and ran away!. I am still waiting to get items back; they are no longer picking up their calls or responding to texts!

RUN!

Did you get your stuff back?

Hi there,

That's horrible! I recently had a very similar situation happen to me with this same company and have been scammed out of $1200, with all my belongings scattered on the street. If you would like to help me bring justice to bring this company down feel free to email me at [email protected].

They took a deposit of $400 and additional $250 before they can come back and finish loading a POD from a house. Total charge on the receipt is $1428.They used three black guys and a U haul van registration number AZ22655. I live in Aurora, North of Toronto. Cell number of the scammers - 416.602.1467/647.493.6408 - Ryan/Kevin.
Luckily the goods were to be moved from a storage unit into the pod.
NORDIQUE MOVER'S INC - 514.463.9846. SUPERVISOR: 437.329.4739
At that stage I was not going to let them get into my house anymore. We had to call the police. They waited a while and left with the goods from the storage as I refused to pay them anymore money.

I just got scammed by these [censored]ers!
The driver was throwing my stuff around like it was nothing. They asked for 2 deposits and when I was given final bill of $1600 I refused to pay, they wouldn’t give me my stuff and I couldn’t let that happen so I had to pay. They refused to carry anything up the stairs as they wanted more money and at that point I refused so they left everything in the garage.
Clearly they haven’t gotten caught yet cause this just happened to me. I feel so bad for everyone and I should have read the reviews before hiring these mother [censored]ers.

Hi there,

I recently fell victim to the same scam ran by the same company. If you'd like to contribute any efforts to bring this company down and seek justice email me at [email protected]

We also have an incident #

I just got scammed from this exact same company I called the police and have incident #

These guys damaged our property, our furniture and took our stuff hostage till we pay them $1500+ . We spoke with the peel police and were told they can't do much and take it to small business court. We left with no choice other than paying them. Then the truck broke down in the middle of the road and they refused to deliver our stuff. We ended up paying for the towing ($400) as well and unloading the truck by ourselves. These [censored] were sitting in the car watching. Something needs to be done.
I have recorded phone calls and pictures, I am surprised they are committing crime and harrasing people in their most vulnerable state and getting away with it.

I have been in the same situation today.
But u called other number Andrew who said it will not cost more than $450 for 2 bedroom .
3 guys came, 2 of them were already high.
Loaded 1 hour. Unloaded even faster. They stopped somewhere to get more high. Came all woth res eyes like bulls. I had to pay $1200 for 3 hours in total.
I didn't let them to bring some furniture upstairs because they charge extra for stairs.
I am a single mother woth 2 kids and the small one is with disability
This person is advertising on kijiji and scamming people
The truck didn't have nothing like blankets or straps.
I had to pay as I just wanted this nightmare to finish. They throw boxes , loading like it's some garbage
There are few people involved in this and they are hiring random guys to do the job and paying them $20/h
I have both numbers of contacts and pic of license plates.

SCAMMERS, i lost $2000 plus my furniture is damaged and my grandmother and mother was injured in the process. We need to find a way to get back at these people, it's not right what they are doing to all these consumers. Moving is already a headache and they make this worst by scamming. I will be getting this company and people behind this under investigation please message me so we can start petitions or something to let the authorities know that we have frauds/scammers.

+3

Post their name and phone number for awareness.

Worst experience ever! Spoke with Ronaldo at 416-671-9987 and same thing like other reviews. He sent me a text and I spoke with him on the phone. Rate $50 an hour and Gas fee $125 (1 time fee) Cash only. I asked for 2 movers and 3 showed up. They said it's 2 movers plus one driver. Before they move your things they get you to sign a contract. DO NOT sign this contract as they have so many hidden charges. You will end up paying for fuel, a minimum of 5 hours, 20% service charge, heavy items, appliance charge, etc. Your bill will be extremely high in the end! They know exactly what they are doing, that's why they are on kijiji. Go with a reputable moving company on Google with good ratings. You think you are getting a good deal in the beginning, but end up getting scammed in the end. If you give a deposit and sign the contract, your things will be loaded and held hostage unless you pay the full bill!

+2

Did you just get scammed?

Please contact me. I wana get them back for all the damage they caused innocents. Anyone have an address?

Same guys scammed me, I am not sure about their address but I will be happy to be a part of the law suit.
