So I called the Gainesville Best Buy Geek Squad and explained the email and the Geek Squad member stated that the company is aware of the emails and that I needed to call my local law enforcement agency and have a report made and then delete the email and not to click any information in the email and that they were sorry.
So I clarified with the gentlemen on the phone I was speaking to and asked him so what your telling me is that the Best Buy system has been hacked and now someone has all mine and other people’s information and I haven’t seen any information from Best Buy on the news or any other social media outlets as to it being a warning or to alert people of the scam.
I never called Law Enforcement, because I’m retired LEO of 15 years and my wife is retired as well. There is no way of tracking cyber crimes. So I’m reporting it to ScamPulse.com so that this crap don’t happen to anyone else who is unaware of crimes like this and the fact that the Best Buy is very aware of the scam and not telling people about it, until the victims call Best Buy and all the company can say is I’m sorry there’s nothing I can do. Unacceptable.
