the below is placed over my desktop screen without warning or request. There is a audio that repeats over and over and you cannot stop it unless you turn off your computer.

While using the internet, a pop up window appeared along with a voice that said bank and credit card information was at risk and that I should call a toll free number or the computer was going to shut down. I called the number and spoke to someone who identified themselves as working for Microsoft Tech Support. They asked to access my computer to look for foreign activity. I asked them 'how do I know this isn't a scam?' and they said they understood my concerns and that they work for Microsoft. They asked me what security program I was using () and showed that if was not compatible with my operating system, and recommended that I purchase another security software that would scan my wireless network and include a 5 year warranty on my computer. They asked for my credit card information and produced a receipt. They started a program to clean up my computer and said they would call me back in 45 minutes to an hour. When they called back, a representative gave me a case ID number and password, and gave a phone number for me to call if I had any additional problems. They sent me an email to authorize a charge on my credit card for the new security software and asked me to open my email to access it.

Received this call today were he said his name was John Wilson but he had a very heavy accent. So I knew that was a lie from the get go. Next I asked for his id# from his windows badge and he said don't worry about it I'm from Microsoft I'm trying to help you know open up your computer so we can fix this. Next I told him one moment so I could contact Microsoft from my other phone and then pretend to be on the phone with Microsoft and asked for his call back number and he hung up

- Lincoln, NE, USA

A popup came on my computer purportedly from Microsoft that they had detected a virus on my computer and I was to call a telephone number ( Sorry I did not copy it.) to have them remove it. If I closed the popup without calling, my computer would lock up. I could not get out of the site by clicking the close so I closed the browser to disconnect.

- Pocatello, ID, USA

"Microsoft" called telling me my Windows 10 expired and that I needed to renew and buy again or my computer would stop working. I asked my grandson and he told me it was a scam.

- Butte, MT, USA

Popped up on Chrome with scary screens from Microsoft to not close window and that all personal and financial info was being taken and that you should call this number, 1-888-586-8499 immediately to fix the issue. I closed the browser and ran Avast and Malware Bytes several times and detected 16 threats in Malware Bytes. Quaranteed all. Suggest using Ctrl+Alt+Del to open Task Manager and close browser that way.

- Spokane, WA, USA

It was a recording on the phone that said this was an emergency. My license key on my Microsoft products on my windows program was expiring and I must call them right away. I did not call them back because I checked with someone at Office Depot who knows about scams and he said it was a scam.

- Macon, GA, USA

Received pop-up message on computer stating it had been hacked with malicious content. Called the number on the message and spoke with Travis & Kevin who said they were with Microsoft. They gained access to computer, and then wanted me to pay for a 3 year security plan.

- Port Orchard, WA, USA

This is not Microsoft. I wrote a longer message, but I. had difficulty with Recaptcha. I had removed Aviva within one week when I had difficulty printing, then did print, and reinstalled Aviva. But since this message came, selecting Aviva and scan has not removed this message, it interfered with its audio ( the unwanted message had a voice, that is). I do not yet know if I have lost money

- San Jose, CA, USA

Person called my personal mobile phone and stated that my Microsoft windows license had expired.

I asked on what computer - he said my personal one...

I don't have a personal computer (my laptop is a company issued one)

Stated I don't have a personal computer

Caller hung up

Pop up showed up and warned me I had to call the tool free number to seal with an infection.

- Mount Vernon, OR, USA

I received a call stating that the company is Microsoft and asked me to type in numbers on my computer so they were able to fix the virus. I did that and then they asked for 250.00. I hung up the phone and turned off my computer. When I went to turn the computer back on and its frozen. It seems like they hijacked my computer. I am going to take my computer to a local computer repair place to fix.

"I'm calling about your computer", no indication where they were calling from. They keep calling and I am tired of the bologna.

I cannot understand what they are saying because of the accent.

- Barnesville, GA, USA

Called all hours of the night trying to tell me I need to go in front of my computer as there is a problem they need to assist me with repairing.

- Sugar Grove, IL, USA

Recorded "Emergency" message to notify me that my Microsoft windows license was about to expire & invite me to call and give them money to solve the problem.

I clicked on an ad on Facebook in the right hand ads re trump divorce and a verbal warning scam said that my computer passwords have just been stolen and I should contact Microsoft by clicking the page or calling their toll free number which they conveniently provided. I did not, I shut off my computer. I restarted and checked the actual microsoft contact numbers which were of course, different. No damage all better, but I am getting quite annoyed with the amount of false ads on facebook.

On Oct. 3,2016 and again on Oct.4,2016 I was contacted by phone . The fellow spoke with an Indian accentand informed me my computer had a virus. I told him that was *** and hung up on him. The next day a person with the same accent from the same number called to say they were from Windows to inform me my computer had a virus.

This time I said, "This is a scam, I have your number and am reporting this to ScamPulse.com and anyone else with authority to investigate scams." again I hung up.

I keep getting calls from this number claiming to be from Microsoft. I know its a scam and told the caller, but they continue calling. I also do no own a computer . They want to troubleshoot my computer, they claim detecting a problem exist.
