Scammer name: Arline Russell - she placed a job offer for English-Russian translation in the Face Book group 'Work in Germany', I expressed my interest and she referred me to the next scammer - @Lena Molin in Telegram
Scammer's email Telegram account @Lena Molin
Country Sweden
Type of a scam: English-Russian translation project offer. First 'Lena' asked me to send her my CV (which I did) and then sent me a short and simple translation test which I also did just having free time. After the successful translation "the team approved me" and she sent me a 12-page text for translation via Telegram and promised $3000 for the project, but when I asked about a contract and other details, such as specific terms and conditions, legal and e-mail addresses etc. she stopped answering, although she was online. Also, she sent a contract template (please, see attached) - and after reading the following line "Remote employees are to cover the processing fee for the corporate card, which is $50" everything was clear. I deleted her contact from Telegram, but you will easily find her there - @Lena Molin

The scammer uses a fake account of a real ManPowerGroup HR manager — Lena Molin — and on behalf of this company.

All they want is more money to "unlock the blockchain" which requires that you pay full tax on the whole 'profit', while you may only need a smaller amount. Unless you give them the extra money, it's stalemate. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM - avoid at all costs. Report to sp ace tel cap ital

Scammed

This same person just contacted me today and had the same exact picture when I asked for his credentials.

I had a text message from someone who claimed to be from Manpower Group but they had a 414 area code number which is from Milwaukee Wisconsin. I called the telephone number and it was from Bostick Recruiting Company This stupid witch (with capitol B) was a scam artist. I left a voicemail letting this person know that she was a liar and that I wanted her to put my cell phone number on her company DO NOT CALL LIST.

The same Upwork job scam as described here https://www.scampulse.com/manpower-group-reviews#i16296272
They even sent me thir employee badge photo.

They tried to scam me, but I was pretty skeptical since they messed up the duration of the contract by putting that part in Spanish when all the other info was in English. Then, they did one interview nothing to bad just asking about past job experiences which was already available on indeed anyways. The part that made me really think it was fishy was the next email that had grammatical errors. After scheduling another interview with "the actual hiring manager" I received from another person with some "official" looking mumbo jumbo at the bottom, the first person called me about 3 times to confirm it within a day. They never even told me the address, just the street it was on, till I asked. When he sent me it, I wanted to see if he could get it right, he accidentally put the "official" looking mumbo jumbo from the second guy directly underneath it without spacing at all making it look real bad. Luckily, they only got a name and previous experience which was already listed anyways. Turns out they are the newscaster turned WWE Spanish announcer Carlos Cabrera, least I'm guessing that what he was going for, and his linkedin is totally blank and his position wasn't even the one he said...lol.

Upwork Job Scam!

TL;DR; don't make a freelance offer for a job asking for "Remonte Proffreading needed" when even the job title itself was not proofread.

"Hello , I hope you are doing great. You are required to download the file attached bellow for full details about getting interviewed for the position.
once you have download the file i need you to carefully go through it and follow the proceedings.
thanks..."

Attached was a pdf document which appeared to be on letterhead from Manpower Group.
The pdf instructed me to

"Telegram will be used for the purpose of the interview. To contact Him, setup a
Telegram acct. (www.telegrammessenger.com and also download a Telegram talk
app on your phone or computer using your email or phone number to sign up once
you have signed up you can add up the company Hiring Manager Mr Murphy Chris
on his ID (+1 539 444-0056 Or Username @ MrMurPhyChrisTopher Or
https://t.me/MrMurPhyChrisTopher also Here is the supervisor
email:([email protected]) for more information and interview. "

I really need a job desperately so I continued (wrong on my part) and went off platform.

20 minutes into the messenger conversation (text only) This guy claiming to be Murphy Chris not only had bad grammar, but the questions just didn't align with the job offering. The job was tagged WordPress but nothing about WordPress ever came up at all. After telling me about Manpower which seemed legit he stated:

"Up-work is charging unnecessary (30%) fees so all work will conducted through this chat and through email. We spoke to one of their staffs and they said our post will be removed because it doesn't meet their terms and conditions for payment. That is not a problem as we will be paying you directly via direct deposit, check or through Bank official payment account. Let me know if you are interested so we can proceed and how much will you like to be paid per hour?"

All of that seemed not only unethical but to wordy and sounded like it was from a ESL (English Second Language) individual which I deal with often with previous employers.

I reasoned back and forth with them that is sounded like a scam. They never directly addressed my concerns but walked around the problems and continue the "interview process". I answered a bunch of questions to see where it would go without giving out my SSN, DoB, Bank Account #. One question that stood out was:

"What Bank(s) Do you Operate with to see if it tallies with the company's official salary payment account?"

That seemed like a very odd question, and I reasoned why that was needed.

"its for the company to know which account the payment would be issued out from"

That was a very scammy answer, so I walked my way around the question without divulging too much of any personal information. Not too long later after ignoring another question they congratulated me and awarded me the position. Again the grammar was all off. They then sent me a contract to sign as a contract hire to be a 1099 employee which came from the gmail account instead of an official company owned domain. I questioned this and then nit pick their contract apart finding spelling and grammar errors and mismatching information. For a legal document it was missing all of the legal aspects that would be binding and was on a letterhead that stated on the bottom: "Provided for reference only" like it was imposed on top of some different actual official document. I tried to call the actual company but it was after hours and tried the directory and could not find these two guys who said they worked for this company. Overall this appears to be a scam where they were going to send me a check to buy a program and equipment to do my job and then once I ordered it from the vendor the check would bounce and I would be held liable for the cost.

I was dumb enough to play along, but smart enough to jump ship before I went down into the whole.

They found my resume on indeed and text messaged me regarding more information on the interview and job description and to download google hangout and email [email protected]. She then introduced herself and told me the job details and that the interview was going to be through that app (instant messaging). After I got accepted for the job she asked for my phone provided information so she can get the materials needed for the job (laptop and Phone). Then she started asking for more personal information (mother’s maiden name, SSN, my monthly income, credit score, monthly mortgage, address, and DOB)

I had been applying online for jobs. I was initially contacted via text message and asked if I was still interested in the job. I had actually applied for a job with ManPower inc. I was then asked if I was familiar with google hangouts. That would be how the interview would be done. I completed the interview. Was told I scored very high and was offered the job. Something was off the entire time. I only gave my name and address. The man said I would be priority mailed a check for 3,350.00 of which I was to take to my bank and use to buy the software needed for the job. FLAG!!! Anyway, I declined be invite the next morning for continuing the overview of the job. Received my check today.

- Fort Worth, TX, USA

I received an email from a man saying he wanted to chat with me for an interview on Google hangouts. He gave me a woman's name and her email address. Both emails were from google accounts. First off I noticed that in their email names at the bottom it only listed they were with HR but no company. But when they started chatting with me in google hangouts, they listed a company name. Manpower Group and the web address. It was obvious to me that they used a lot of cut and paste with general information but listed the pay at $35 per hour and $19 per hour for training. They did start off with good questions to gain your confidence and even won me in the beginning. But the thing I noticed was I never had a clear picture of the job description. Then they offered me the job working from home, BUT NEVER ASKED WHAT COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS I HAD. I knew then it was a scam. They fell right into not answering my questions. They did want to know how often I wanted paid and which bank. They also said that they will send me a check with a bonus and pay for all of my equipment. Yea right...caught!!

I was contacted via text from 972-534-8064 by a supposed Gina Morgan stating the HR Dept of Manpower Group found my resume on indeed and to contact her if I was interested. I asked her to send me more information about the company and positions available. She sent me the legitimate manpower group website with positions suitable to my resume. I contacted her letting her know the position I was interested in. She then had me to contact the "Head of Operations" Richard Buchband with the email [email protected]. I contacted him and he conducted an IM interview. This went on as any normal type of interview. He told me I had the job. The checks were sent to purchase the work equipment to set up an office from home. I received a check in the mail from Elisica M Walker in Memphis Tennessee with a note inside saying to follow all steps. I was to deposit this check, withdraw the funds, and then follow the steps given by Richard. Those steps included deposit the money, withdraw the money, purchase gift cards and send the info, and send money grams. The deposits were being sent to Jahmill Lloyd thru Bank of America acct:375019426371 as well as the money grams. At one point I was to wire money to Amy Jones with Regions bank Routing 081001387

Savings Account 0228741889. The same steps were pretty much followed every time. This damage caused me to lose the money I previously had in my checking and savings account with a negative balance. I am no longer authorized to bank with a bank I was with for 10 years. I have no money and no way to pay for living necessities. Please do not fall prey to these people and or possibly this company.

I received a text stating that the hiring department reviewed my resume and wants to do an "interview" on Google Hangouts. The interview asked several questions, then they informed me I was right for the "work-at-home" job. There was no face-to-face interview and no employment paperwork or contract. They stated that they needed me to deposit a check into my account in order to purchase equipment. I asked why they could not purchase the equipment and they were evasive in their answer, simply stating that it doesn't work that way. They USPS expressed me a check for $3,000. I did not deposit the check as I work in law enforcement and would not allow it to get to that point. Even though I had revealed to them that I work in law enforcement, they continued with their communication. When I received the check, they were going to give me "further instructions." I told them I knew it was a scam and would shred the check or mail it back, whichever they preferred. They did not respond. I wanted to receive the check simply so I could obtain their address. I actually had two of these scams within a week's time. The first scam stated the company was in Australia. Since I received messages from them at odd hours, I am certain this is an international scam.

I was messaged for a job as they had my resume from job sites, they told me i had the job and i would get the check for office supplies for my home office and was told to deposit the check immediately for 4282.00 and over the next couple days was told to take the funds out and send it to a vendor for supplies and software. Then withing 2-3 days the check bounced and i was made responsible for them. I am now trying to take out a loan to pay for it.

I received a text message inviting me to be a "secret shopper". Communications by email followed explaining a bit more how this would work. Never did I speak to anyone from "Manpower Survey" . I received a check in the mail for my first evaluation for $1,843.90. I was told to go to my bank, deposit the check (hide account information) and send confirmation of deposit by email. After that Manpower would provide the bank a "confirmation" and I would receive instructions on where to go, what to buy etc for my secret shopper assignment. I never deposited the check. I thought the whole thing was very suspicious. I went on-line to investigate further and discovered that this is a scam. Manpower Group is apparently at G-151 Slater St. #089, Ottawa, On K1P 5H3. Contact is: Daniel Graham, email: hrmanpowersurvey.com. No telephone number was provided. Please let me know if you are aware of this particular scam and if so if I should report it to any other authority. Thank-you for making the community aware of these despicable scammers! Fortunately, I stopped this before I lost any money.*** *** *** ***
