I knew it was a scam but called anyway. Jean Parker gave me his ID number of JP95137 and a case number of IR83647. He was very threatening. So much so that I knew it was a scam. And then said would you like to settle this now for $5400.00 WOW!!! I am sure they are scaring people into paying them.

I received three voice mails on my cell phone stating that the IRS is filing a lawsuit on me and I needed to call them back for more information

- Holland, OH, USA

I have received 5 recorded phone calls today, supposedly from the IRS, stating they are filing a lawsuit against me, but they don't state my name specifically and, I need to call them immediately. I did not return any calls because I was aware of this scam. I am completely frustrated, though, because of the number of times they called. The first call came in at 7:37 am then, 8:37 am, 10:22 am, 12:45 pm and 2:18 pm. The number that comes up on my caller ID is 219-230-2388 and this is the number they wanted me to call back. Since I haven't received a call in the last 4 hours, I am hoping they have given up on me. The second time they called, I let the voicemail pick up as with subsequent calls. I did save the recorded message.

I received call from Baton Rouge LA phone number 225-590-5777 today Jan 6,2016 stating that they were the IRS and had been trying to reach me that my taxes had been filed incorrectly and that I owed back taxes. I knew before it went any further that it was a scam for one reason IRS would not call by phone and also my daughter had received the same kind of call day before. She also lives in same town as me.

Rec'd calls on both my land line and cell phones, from: 202-657-4712. Caller says call is being recorded.

This is IRS regarding immediate law suit for failure to pay taxes!

- Whitehouse, OH, USA

Person called and left message that I was being sued by the IRS. I returned the call and spoke with an "Officer Garcia" (barely spoke English) and was told I was being sued for unpaid taxes from the years 2010 - 2014 in the amount of $4,986.73. I inquired why I was not notified prior to being sued and was told that I had been notified but that I did not respond to the notification and therefore, further steps were being taken against me. I stated that I didn't think this sounded correct, that something seemed off with the entire situation, and that I felt the IRS would have notified me by mail of the problem. He told me I had received mail but never responded. He also stated that someone came to my home in October 2015 but that I was not available to speak with them at that time. He stated that my bank accounts were frozen, that my house would be seized, and that officers in Lucas County would be on the way to my home within 2 hours to take me into custody as a warrant had been issued for my arrest. At this point, I stated that I was at work and could not talk any longer and that I would have to call him back to further discuss the situation. At this point, "Officer Garcia" hung up on me.

The initial call came into my cell phone at 8:56 a.m. 1/6/16.

I returned the call at 9:15 a.m. on 1/6/16 from which the above conversation is noted.

- Toledo, OH, USA

Received 3 phone calls yesterday (two on land line, one on cell phone) and two calls today (one on land line and one on cell). All calls were a recording telling me that they have been trying to reach me and that this was the final call and that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and then instructed me to call back. The calls originated from Seattle, WA, Sunnyside, WA, and DC, USA. Both my land line and my cell are registered with the do not call list.

- Beaverton, OR, USA

Was called with a recording saying the IRS was suing me. It told me to call 202-413-5117. They hung up on me 3 times before someone would talk with me. Gave them my name. The lady said we owed $5900 in back taxes from 08 or 13. I asked for documentation of these charges. That's when she got really aggressive and said a police officer would show up in 45 minutes. I explained that I was not disputing these charges as this was the first I had heard of them but I was not going to pay anything until I had documentation. That is when she hung up on me. The name she gave was Susan Lewis. Employee number IRM 7370. ScamPulse.com was very helpful and told me that the IRS does not contact people by phone. Thanks BBB!
