I recd a call today at 3:00 PM from a man with a foreign accent; the voice mail said not to disregard this msg & I should call them back ASAP (415-963-4770). I returned the call and spoke to man who stated there were criminal charges against me. I told him I have never been arrested and he said he would go over the charges w/me and not to interrupt. He said I owed $4989.53 to the IRS; that I should a good criminal lawyer; that a warrant would be sent out today. He eventually hung up.

I would like to pass along a scam originating in San Francisco. A person calls claiming to represent the IRS and asks for you to return the ASAP. The number is 1-415-800-4987.

This was the third message I received saying they were from the Internal Revenue Service. A garbled message was left saying something about -

Being taken into custody by the local police as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this movement. We would request you to get back to us so that we can discuss this case before taking any legal action against you. The number to reach us is 360-525-9474.

Said that this was final notice that action was being taken against my husband that the IRS was looking for him. When I said this is his wife and I file the taxes what can I help you with they hung up the phone.

I have received 7 phone calls claiming the person calling was the IRS. They stated that they have filed a law suit against me and left a case number. They asked that I call them immediately. The calls were from several different numbers with two of them being from New York.

Received a call on Jan 13, 2016 at 9/25. Recording said the internal revenue has been trying to contact us and to call 908 621 0018 as soon as possible

Received another call at 3:40. Recording saying we have 24 hours to respond to the IRS regarding a lawsuit against us and to call 206 792 9945 as soon as possible

Called twice leaving two automated messages. Claims to IRS and threatened to have me locked up and all my belongings taken from me. Wanted a large amount of money, and gave me no way of paying. Claimed i had a claim against me for 2009 through 2014. Got upset when i told him i'd have to call my Tax agent and ask them some questions. Got even more upset when i asked for his id and number again. Which i never got. Called my agent afterwarss and was told it was a scam. I feel rather upset with myself. He got my social and my date of birth.

I rec'd a call at 7:15am this morning from a recording saying they were from the IRS and that I owed money. Which I don't. I called the # back and it said the call could not be completed. The # that they called from is 346-303-9917.

I received two calls from "IRS" stating that I owed back taxes. There was a warrant out for my arrest if I didn't sent a money gram for approx. $6000.00. They would be at my house within 45 minutes. Their phone number is 661-250-6995 and also 202-754-8413. I did contact police.

I received 2 messages on my voicemail that I should call the IRS immediately regarding a lawsuit the IRS filed against me. I called & it was a very circular conversation. She (heavy accent) insisted that the IRS sent me 2 notices &, since I didn't respond, a warrant is out for my arrest. I could avoid arrest if I immediately sent $4,000. She claimed I hadn't filed since 2009 (false) &, therefore owe $4,000. I asked to speak to a supervisor & a man came on the phone. Again, the same circular conversation ~ they sent notices & it didn't matter that I hadn't received them. It was my responsibility &, if I didn't send the money right away, police would arrive at my door to arrest me.

I told him this was totally ridiculous & that I was calling my lawyer. Last words were: "the police would be at my door in a few minutes to arrest me. Thankfully, I called my accountant who told me it was a scam.
