- Omaha, NE, USA

Received two calls this date on cell phone with voice message stating to call them immediately as I am being sued by IRS for infraction and that they want to talk to me right away. I did call back, a person with distinct dialect answered with lots of background noise.

- East Amherst, NY, USA

Robo call saying lawsuit being filed against you by the IRS and to call 206-565-0448 immediately. When calling the number a representative asks to verify name and address and asks for criminal attorney name and number as you will be arrested for IRS criminal lawsuit, then asks for money

Received phone call on 1/6/2017 at 3:06 p.m. from phone # 1-856-335-5536. It was a recording stating that this was a call from the IRS & there was a warrant out for my arrest. I would be contacted the following day & taken to jail. I was informed to call the above number if I had any questions.

I called the above number immediately & a man with a foreign accent answered the phone as IRS. I told him I had received a call to contact this number. He responded with "and"? I said "and what?", I'm returning the call. He asked what number I was told to call & I told him the number. He said not to call him again that this was a scam. I told him I thought so and hung up.

Now it's funny to me that this would be a scam because I didn't just dial the number I was told to call, I hit redial. This leads me to believe that the call originally came from the same number I called back. Also, the voice/accent sounded exactly like the calls I receive for problems about my computer & I need to give them access to my laptop. (I don't fall for that one either)

IRS Service asking for money or be picked up by law enforcement.

I have received 2 phone calls today from this phone number from a supposed IRS agent saying that I am involved in a lawsuit. I tried to call the number back and was not able to speak to anyone. I know this is a scam.

Automated caller said it was the IRS calling bc she had "done a fraud on the government". Caller said to call them @ "Con Art Dept" 509-315-2811. They are issuing an arrest warrant and file a lawsuit against her.

Received a voice mail that my name was included in an IRS lawsuit and to call them back immediately. The voice mail sounded like a recording. I did not call the number back.

- Toledo, OH, USA

The above number call me and said they were the irs federal government they told me if i did not call them back they would come an arrest me

- Levelland, TX, USA

Called claiming that I owed the IRS money, there were government and law enforcement officials listening to the call, so do not interrupt. Said that all my assets would be frozen, ID would be revoked (Including SS number) and there was a federal warrant being filed for my arrest. Then asked if I would like to settle outside of court or fight the IRS. I asked to speak with a supervisor and then asked for the "supervisor" (sounded like the same guy trying to disguise his voice) to tell me what my driver's license and SS numbers are. He said he didn't know, so I said that if this were actually the IRS/Law Enforcement with a warrant, they would have that info. I hung up on them and haven't heard back since.

Called consumer requesting $5000 for overdue taxes

The woman sounded Indian claimed she was with the IRS and said I owed taxes from last year and they were going to sue me.

Called on my phone. Stated I owed money from 2009-2014. I knew I did not owe the money. Stated they will carry me to court. $2,357.00 was owed. Told them I would call the Greenville county IRS, he hung up.

- Lubbock, TX, USA

Received a call from an unknown number notifying me about receiving a $9,200 federal grant. I was asked to call this other number (the one I provided in the form) and they directed me to purchase an $125 iTunes gift card in order for my information to be tracked, therefore being able to transfer the money through a moneygram. I did not go through with anything; I recognized it was scam immediately. I just hope that by providing this information I can help in shutting down these scams.

Received voicemail from "IRS" the number on my caller ID showed 760-248-0469 but they asked me to call back 631-402-9589. When I called there was a lot of folks talking in the background and they guy on the phone told me he was the IRS. When I asked a few questions and he got frustrated and hung up on me.

I received a call from someone that siad they were from the IRS. Basically thru a long conversation I was tol that I was under law suit from the IRS for tax fraud. I was told they were going to take all my ssets, freeze my bank account, freeze my SSN# , take my drivers liscense, and as soon as the call ended I would be arrested from the local authorities. When the call ended I received a call from the local police dept. which I did not answer. I contacted an attorney and later called the police dept. which both told me this was a scam. It should be illegal to scare people like this. I start chemo on Thur. and this incident caused me chest pains for at least an hour. This was so bizarre and scared me very much.

Said they had a no bail warrant for our arrest for tax evasion and we could settle in or out of court,if we preferred to settle out of court we owe $4989. Her name was OFFICER KELLY. AND if we did not pay they would send the sherif for our arrest.

Foreign individuals that called claiming to be the IRS. The guys name was supposedly Officer James Martin Badge #IRM9971. He asked for my last name to verify who he was speaking with. I gave him this & proceeded to ask him what it was about. He then asked for the last 4 digits of my social #. I asked him for his. He told me that I was being charged with tax fraud. When I started to question him he hung up on me. I called back & he cursed me out. I called back a 3rd time & a female answered & told me not to call back. I called back many times to let them know how many scam reports that they already had & that I would add another to their list.

I got an article - telling of this scam - but wanted to add one more note - I have gotten at least 4 calls regarding this. When the threatening call comes--- at no time do they give their name - NOR do they ask for any particular person. Clearly they are trying to get someone to react. Know that I owed nothing & having worked in a banks fraud unit, I was aware immediately that this was bogus. These people tend to prey upon people of "age" who are already on a fixed income.

I was called by this number 760-248-0469 3 times today. Left voicemails all three times, telling me that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and to call 631-402-9589 to see about my claim number. I called to see and it said the number was not a working number.

I received a phone call from this number saying they repersent the IRS and wanted me to pay the full amount of 2980.00 over the phone. Threatened to serve papers in the next 48 hrs and have me arrested and put in jail and moved to washington federal prison. Then ask if I could pay 500.00 down with payment plan to stop the proceedings. Told them I couldn't and then he said what about 200.00 or 100.00 down. Still told him I couldn't. He kept saying through out the hold phone call of approx. 30 to 45 mins. that this is being recorded. when i finally refused everything and kept saying I had no money at this time then he finally hung up. The phone number that I received the call from is 206-209-1631
