I was trying to renew my passport and this website was the top of a Google search. It looked like a government website, but when I finished the purchase, I was immediately notified by the credit card agency that it was potentially a fraud. I looked on ScamPulse.com and discovered many people have been scammed by this same company. I will have to dispute the transaction and put a credit freeze since I had uploaded my personal information. Now I know to ONLY use .gov websites.

Looking to renew my passport online, I was transferred to Govassist.com. I provided a photo, all personal info and paid their processing fee of $148. They then said they would send me a "kit" with my application and photo that I would then have to mail, with the government fee, to get my passport.

When you get on the government website to renew your passport somehow the application ends up going to a third party.. twice now I thought I was on the official website.
