I tried to purchase some lawn tractor parts. He said he had the parts so I paid via Zelle. He did not accept PayPal (red flag!). It took him a couple of days to send the tracking info. The tracking website was rapidexpresstrack.org, which I now believe was a bogus website. Probably created for scammers. Everything looked okay at first but after a day or two the website said that the shipment was “held for insurance.” I tried to contact the seller on messenger and apparently the account was deleted. He would not respond to phone calls or texts. I had heard that Zelle was often associated with fraud in the past. I’m sure it is because one the money is sent, it can’t be retrieved.
