Geek Squad Imposter/Spoof Reports & Reviews (355)

Received a bill. I called them to make sure it wasn't taken out of my banking account. I want to cancel this before Feb.28th 2023. To get this back into your account we need your bank information. So I gave it to them. I needed to keep the phone line open so they could walk me through this. Then they said they deposited $4500. Into my checking account. Then they realized they made a mistake and needed me to go to a CVS and send back $4000. To the Geek Squad. This didn't feel right.

I had to check all my cc's and bank accounts - I never authorized any of this. When you call the number you obviously are not talking to GeekSquad - they continually ask for your account number (which I would not give to them) but they kept asking. I only gave them the order number and/or confirmation number but they couldn't look that up. Gee, isn't that too bad. I got this same email last year, so they try this yearly. SCAM!

I was emailed that i was a current geek squad member....which I am not....and they would automatically renew my subscription for the current year at 399.99. When i called the contact number they wanted credit card info to cancel my subscription which I did not give and Upon telling them I had contacted my bank and the better buisness bureau the person hung up. I googled the customer service number they provided and it does not come up as a geek squad number. It just says its invalid. So I am guessing the scam is to give them credit card info to cancel a subscription in order to get your card info. Please look into this.

I received this email. I contacted them and they said they could not return money that I knew nothing about unless they could tap into my computer. I do not have a computer just a iPad. I don’t know if they have taken money out yet or not but it freaked me out because I do not have that kind of money to spare and I knew nothing about it.

I keep getting these emails from these scammers pretending to be the geek squad and telling me I have a subscription that is ready for renewal. They don't use my name.it looks like a auto generated email that addresses the person as customer. One day,I had 15 of these emails in my spam box and they all said the exact same thing but only had different names attached to it.

pretending to be Best Buy Geek Squad saying I bought 5 year service warranty

Fake invoice- from Geek Squad

I have been receiving emails about a subscription for geek squad called to inform them that I do not use their services and dispute guy ignored all I was saying and keep talking about the subscription I informed that I was going to report for fraudulent transaction

I received an email from the Geek Squad stating my subscription had been renewed. I did not see any debit or charge against any accounts, so I called the number listed on the email to cancel the charge. I talked with a rep and downloaded some software he claimed would open a site which would facilitate my refund credit.

Long story short: I downloaded the software and it was able to take over my computer for about 30 seconds before I shut it down. I subsequently removed, reported and blocked the software: jpsupport.live. I then changed all my credit card and banking passwords. I am monitoring activity against the cards and accounts.

I believe they were trying to gather account numbers and log-in info on these accounts. I called these people back and they surprisingly answered. Told them I had reported them to the BBB, Consumer Reports and the FBI Fraud Division for phishing. They became very angry and tried to convince me they were legit. I asked why they had to use the software I downloaded to facilitate my refund, and they couldn't give me a straight answer.

I received three email that appeared to be from Geek Squad. Two yesterday and one this morning. It states Dear Customer your invoice GTX25336 for $349.99 is attached. Please remit your payment at your earliest convenience. I know it not from Geek Squad. Their logo is black, orange & white. I don't pay for Geek Squad. I did not open that attachment. I know not to do that. It tells me to view the attachment.

Both my husband recd emails from Geek squad . I went to Best Buy and reported it. Also we do not have an account with wells fargo bank which they are using for payment . 249.99 was charged 2/1. ctc stogner,[email protected] nbr 1 855 518 5849. other scam name is [email protected] nbr 833 377-5101 . mahalo

Last night I rec a email saying congratulations your subscription with geek Squad is now auto renewal. 453.63 successfully charged to account enjoying service. Call 1 (855) 640-1818 8am-6pme If you havent authorized this. So I called. The guy on the phone was of indian descent or something. I could barely understand him. He asked if I was David Foster? I said no, I also asked who is Joyce Hubbard books?

He then tells me misunderstanding and he gave me a dispute # then asked if I had a Apple phone or Samsung? I said apple. He then told me to go to ap store and download anydesk.com I then asked his name and his badge # or clock number. He said his name was Roy Martin. I said really Roy Martin. Then I hung up. The invoice from the charge was very convincing. I should of checked bank first. But I remember seeing something on my phone after watching one of those infomercials between playing games and accidentally clicked and I saw something about geek squad. Then the next night I was playing my game and something popped up about books. I didn't buy or anything with the books tried to get out of site. so i cleared all info out, then continued playing my games, I think a lot of these scams are coming from playing games on devices, or Facebook. so many pop ups everywhere. and the games, want you to download other games then you can't get back to the game you were playing. It's all messed up. I don't want my name on any of this to the public. I just want to help get the scammers.

I received an email stating that my request for automatic renewal has been processed and I will be charged $348.99 for another year of Geek Protection Service. I have never used this service, nor requested automatic renewal. I did not respond to this scam.

I received an email called the number and asked for a fake person and was told that he was unavailable. I then hung up and reported the incident.

If I don’t act my account will be debted!

I received this email today requesting payment for services that I don't have or did not subscribed for,
