Type of a scam Online Purchase
In late August I called Mike and ordered two seat covers for my boat and a canvas back door. He figured the cost while I was on the phone with him, told me to send a check for $268 and enclose a picture and measurements for the door and the two seat covers. I did so. He called back to say he never received the first check and he was telling the truth. It came back in the mail. I remailed it, he received it, cashed it and never sent the product. I called him and was told he had been sick and it would be mailed the second Friday in Oct.
On November 12 I visited his address on Shilshole Ave. The gentleman who answered the door was in the same fabrication business, but apparently produced a product for customers, unlike Fiji Mike! Anyway he and two other upholstery businesses apologized for Mike and his business practices. The craftsman who answered the door at Mike's address on Shilshole Ave. told me Mike had not worked there for about three years, but his ad still offers that address.
These other businesses all said Mike was capable of turning out product, he just found it more profitable to collect and offer nothing in return. He was terminated from at least one of these businesses. All three upholistery places told me he was a crook and they were sorry I got taken. They also told me I had a lot of company, many others went down the same trail.
I'm from out of state but hope this write up helps boaters on Washington to steer clear of this crook.
