I am currently unemployed and I was looking for jobs through LinkedIn and Indeed. The job came across LinkedIn and I applied for it through Indeed. The "CEO" reached out to me to have me schedule an interview through HR with Microsoft Teams. I went through the interview "process" and was "hired" the next day. I started onboarding with my ID/SSN which is typical of new hires. Then the HR person (William Snyder) informed me that they would be sending me materials needed to work remotely and that he was providing me "money" to purchase a printer/along with a $300 sign-up bonus. When he did not email me a W9 for tax purposes I became suspicious and started researching the company online. I could not find them anywhere, but I knew that I had applied for the position. Then he sent me a check for $4900, I looked up the address on the check to verify the company and it was a Landscaping Company. I called the bank on the check to verify the validity of the check, to find out the check was fraudulent.

To Whom It May Concern,

I am reporting a suspected job scam involving an entity using the name PAWFOODS (or PAWFOODS INC). I initially came across this job listing on Indeed for a remote Customer Service position. The recruiter, identifying himself as David, contacted me via SMS to discuss the position. The company claims to have been “closed for a period” and is now “resuming operations,” but no legitimate business information or employee reviews exist. They promise to provide necessary work equipment but require me to purchase it from a third-party vendor instead of directly supplying it. Payment for the equipment is supposedly handled by the company, but I am expected to contact the vendor, a tactic commonly used in fake check scams. No formal interview process took place—just an informal chat via SMS.

Please let me know if additional information is needed. I appreciate your time and assistance in protecting job seekers from fraudulent employment schemes.

Eric ****** contacted me by text message after I applied to an ad for work at home. He said I would be his personal assistant and that he would be sending equipment and such. The only thing I received was a box of envelopes. He then had me order checks to pay me. He said he was a broker for realtors and also did investments

He told me to write a check to deposit and I did. My bank would not deposit the money as they believed it to be a scam. Eric continued to pressure me to give him my account information or to put him on my account which I refused to do. My bank told me to have Eric himself call and talk to the bank but he never did . My last message to him was that I was not going to continue with the job. I then blocked his number.

Rachel Hill sent me several emails in regard to part time a remote Shipping and Receiving Job from email [email protected] that is currently not working on 11/7/2024. I was contacted by Pat Edmond at EPLX INC, HR Dept via email [email protected] phone number 213 431-0799 and 213 816-5322, fax 213 799-6773. This company used Eplxcrm.com as the dashboard which tracked all activity and included payment amounts and distribution dates. The payroll was separated from the actual HR account and their email was [email protected] currently in Mail Delivery Subsystem. My start was 11/22/2024 and I was supposed to get paid 12/22/2024 listed on the dashboard via USPS mail but never received any payment despite constant emails to HR and the payroll department. In the future I will not accept any jobs via the internet whether its Facebook, LinkedIn, Craigslist, etc. I have learned not to look for PT/FT Remote positions as a Fulfilment Associate in the Logistics Departments, or Efficient Cargo Operations Department.

Was contacted to to a job for this company were I received payments from the company's client's to purchase art work for them. From what I can tell is a well organized scam to look legit so they can get money away from people and get bank information.

- Lake Zurich, IL, USA • Jan 29, 2025

I applied for the job, and Mark Anderson, [email protected], emailed me and sent me a Word doc questionnaire to get my knowledge about the QA Tester. Then, after [email protected] sent me a job offer without an interview, which is a red flag for me. Then, the number 845 953 0896 texted me to discuss the onboarding process. I checked LinkedIn for another recruiter who works for this company to verify that name and number, and she said this is a scam and doesn't give any personal info. So, be aware!
