Employment Scam Reports & Reviews (1298)

I received a text message about a job offer from a woman named Melissa Mackey from Presidente Supermarkets. She said in order to schedule a phone interview download the messenger app Telegram and to contact Sabrina Moore. I did download the messenger and Sabrina Moore sent me a link that brought me to the Presidente Supermarkets website. She also provided a job description and asked me 9 interview questions including the name of my bank. Within 10 minutes of answering they told me I was hired and asked for personal information. At that point I deleted the conversations and reported them as junk.

I received an email from someone claiming to be HR with a fake company called "Always Legendary Trucking". They said they found my resume on indeed and wanted to hire me for a purchasing assistant position. The initial emails I sent in response were sent back to me as spam, so eventually, the "company" changed their email address entirely. I should have learned my lesson but I'm desperate for a job - I filled out the application and sent it back to them. After doing some more digging I realized that the company is fake and the position didn't even exist on indeed. They now have a lot of my personal information, but I am grateful I never gave them any of my bank account information.

I applied on LinkedIn. I immediately got a response from the recruiter. First red flag.

Then I started researching. All of the employees are recruiters from India, and none of them matched the job description I applied for. I also didn't see any US-based employees. In addition, I looked up their address and it's a location for a food shop. I didn't call the number because I would rather not have that conversation. Someone has also left a bad review on their Google, it only has two reviews. The website looks really legit, except the email which is too general "info@...". I really think this is a scam, please avoid applying!

I did multiple interviews with this "company" both over video chat and an in person interview. They had me turn down other job offer, then removed their offer for employment (over the phone agreement), after I did so. I think this is a scam company.

Was offered a job by a company that identified themselves as yusen logistics/ yusen ship. Filed out all the required paperwork and was told my first paycheck would be in 30 days from the day that I accepted the job offer. The job required me to work from home receiving and inspecting packages, before sending them out which worked out great for me being a cancer patient going through treatments. However it seems shady to me as the yusen logistics website doesn't even mention this address as one of their local GA offices and haven't heard of the position that I'm talking about when I called to check for my benefits.

Have you completed ur 30 days? I’m going through the same thing as well, nobody answer number, emails, I looked up the numbers & information no information on this company it logged me out of the system on my 30 day

Company acted like a 3rd part shipping company for individuals outside of the US. Oh to find they were shipping items with the states. They would have items shipped to your address or have fake authorized letter for you to pickup items in someone else name. They claim to pay to you a base salary and ask for all your information such as W4, SS #, bank account, etc.

The "work from home" employment offer was listed on Indeed.com initially. I applied, and have been contacted on 3 separate occasions by their representatives.

This is a scam job site platform that uses an app for independent contractors to book work and doesn't pay contractors for their services and if they do they take money out of what the contractor made from the business. This company also steals your bank information and sells your personal information on line

Was working for fraudulent company as a " package inspector" ,, never got paid

The business posted a virtual Assistant job on Upwork (freelance work) and I had applied for the job. The suspect reached out to me through my email and went through the hiring process. I supplied my personal info needed for employment. The company never supplied me a verified employment letter and the "Owner" asked me to make business purchases with my own money and cards. There were credit cards attempted to be opened in my name as well.

I was reached out by phone number by someone that claimed to be a recruiter for this company. I worked for one month, giving them sensitive info (ID, birthday, address, bank acc info) and they have ignored, ducked, and dodged all questions about my paycheck and to this day haven’t compensated me for my time.

I received this job offer through email. After asking for some more information I provided it, but after researching this company I realized this was certainly a scam. We will see how this develops but this scam sadly is covering the internet.

I received a text message about a job offer from a woman named Sondra Dale from Presidente Supermarkets. She said in order to schedule a phone interview download the messenger app Telegram and to contact Jessica Walker. I did download the messenger and Jessica Walker send me a link that brought me to the Presidente Supermarkets website. It looked legitimate but then I realized she started asking me personal questions like my full name and location. I only gave my first name and the abbreviation of the state I live. I knew it was a scam because no company will ever ask you to download messenger to communicate at 8 PM in the evening to schedule an interview. I wanted to report this because as soon as I said I know this is a scam the entire conversation was erased.

The contacted me after I applied for a job they posted on carrier.com and offered me a job named shipper and Packer. I was hired and I was supposed to receive packages that and inspect them, repack them and send them to customers by the invoice provided by the company

I received a text message from the phone number letting me know that I had been shortlisted for an interview with this company. I had submitted several applications, so the fact that I didn’t recognize the name didn’t seem to bother me very much at first. I responded with I am interested in an interview and then I was directed to the signal application to do the interview. The HR representative was ready to interview me right away.

I provided my name and city and state of residence and followed it up with a question about how they got my contact information because I didn’t recall applying to their company.

The response I receive was simply, “fool.”

I asked them to elaborate and they responded with, “ask Google.”

I then proceeded to find that there are many hiring scams out there and I had just become the victim of one.

I found this particular position, quality inspector for the company Shipfast LLC searching for jobs on one of the career builder sites. I submitted resume and even filled out 2 applications. I quickly received a call from Mike Bennett within a couple of days who was the interviewer. He explained job duties and payroll. I accepted and filled out direct deposit form. I was asked to send copies of my I.d and for security purposes they said I could blur out my id number so I did that . All I needed was a printer and a smartphone . Any supplies I didn’t have I was told I’d be reimbursed on my first check. Which by the way my first check would’ve been 2600 and paid $650 weekly after, so I lost money on supplies. I worked for a total of one month for these people receiving inspecting and shipping out many packages. I noticed this week I hadn’t received any packages and quickly wrote my manager, Carlos Comery with concerns. Also I’ve had a package for about almost 3 weeks and still have it . I realized Carlos wasn’t responding which was weird cause he usually responds quickly as he was guiding me. This morning I go to login to my dashboard like every morning and it’s said username and password were incorrect. I tried again using my computer and same thing happened . I then go to call Carlos Comery and the number has been disconnected. I proceed to email him. I then call the interviewer , Mike Bennett and I get no answer at all. I then email him from both email addresses I had received from him. Basically all this was a scam. I’m glad I didn’t give them my license number or social but I am a little worried because they do have my banking account number and routing.

I was looking for remote video editing positions on LinkedIn and came across a lead offering such services at Southport Inc.. Upon submitting my resume and portfolio, I received an email from somebody claiming to be a David Moore, instructing me to fill out a Google form of interview questions. After filling them out, I received an email a few days later from a different person named Ricky Gosnel congratulating me on getting the position, even though I never had a single virtual or phone interview. I guess I figured a phone/virtual chat was going to happen at some point. He then described the pay and benefits, which sounded great and that I would be receiving a check to buy an iMac Pro with HP printer and editing software. Next, I was contacted by someone from HR named Bernice Fletcher with an employment contract. It looked legitimate, like any other employment contract I've signed and so I signed it with a scanned copy of my driver's license. I never gave out any bank information, credit/debit card information, or my social security number. Then I started receiving text messages from Ricky that in order for me to receive the check to buy the work materials, I would need to provide my bank information, which was the final straw for me. I called and nobody answered and then texted them to call me, which never happened. I always figured it was a scam (I couldn't find any information on Robert, Ricky, or Bernice on LinkedIn and the website I found looked like it was thrown together with free software) but wanted to see where it went. It also doesn't help that this comes at a time when I'm looking for remote work so I can be at home with my kids more often.

Info about a job was posted on Facebook, I inquired about it and was given an interview thru an app called telegram. They sent me a job offer and asked me to fill out a W2 and I9 form. I did not fill out the forms. Then they started I would be sent all equipment needed for the job they asked if I had an active credit card for them to deposit company funds on so I could go buy prepaid cards to purchase the software needed.
