Received check for car wrapping today!!

Received a cashiers check for $3750 today to take care of to get wrapped. I smelled a scam from the get go. The crazy part is that I actually signed up to do this kind of advertising.

I filled out a job application to receive $500 weekly to put a Dr Pepper decal on my car. I recently received a check in the mail for $1950.49 to deposit in my account and take out the $500 and send the rest to someone else. I'm not sure if this is legit or a scam, so I'm reporting it.
