Posted a car for sale on craigslist. Person said they were looking for a vin report because the last vehicle they looked at wasnt good. Asked me to get it from tarheelcarshistory.com you put in the vin and it wants to charge you 22.00 for the report. I declined as any normal person would possibly ask for a carfax instead. They sounded legit, good english and had a story to back it up. Definitely a scam as they kept insisting that I send them this specific report.

Finds person selling vehicles through auto trader contacts them via text then ask for a car history report . This sounds authentic because people want a history report when buying used cars . Set a place to meet then after you pay for them send report say have family emergency have to go out of town they’ll contact you once returns
