Type of a scam Phishing

Received an email from Canada Post saying my parcel was not able to be delivered because no one was home. That if we don't bring in downloaded documents into Canada Post we will be charged for storage. Thing is I had just mailed a parcel to my son that should have been there at this time exactly. The following day we received 2 emails approx 2 hours apart, again, saying we had 48 hours to pick up or parcel or it would be returned, again.. with 'tracking number'. Went to Canada Post site, but of course there was no such tracking number.The email had the Canada Post actual address and phone number at the bottom. I called my sons girlfriend who called Canada Post in Ontario, they said there was no parcel there. I called the toll free number, it was in fact a Canada Post number, but she said this is a scam and to delete your e mails. Unfortunately I think my husband has misplaced our original tracking number for the parcel I actually sent, just days ago that in fact should be there. Thankfully I did not open. I am just waiting to hear from my son, because I forwarded info to him, hopefully he received my message in time and did not open attatchment.
