Brillio Spoof Reports & Reviews (1)

I was looking for a part-time remote proofreading job and received an email from someone claiming to be from an affiliate company working with Brillio. She sent me info about a great proofreading job and directed me to contact Priscilla Pollard, HR with Brillio, for more information. Priscilla sent me info about the job and we set up an online interview (I never saw her face). Following that, she sent me an employment contact and paperwork to fill out. She advised me that they use certain vendors to purchase equipment and sent me an electronic check to deposit. The check cleared so I thought it was ok, and followed her directions to send the money to their vendor Walter Bunn on PayPal. Then she called me and said it wasn't enough and asked me to send more money that I would get reimbursed for later, as we were behind schedule getting me set up for training before my official employment date, which I did (it was a Saturday and Monday was a bank holiday). I started panicking over the weekend and tried to cancel the PayPal payments but to no avail. On Tuesday, Priscilla chastised me for causing problems with the vendor and issued me a reimbursement check that was more than the original amount. It cleared my bank (again, I thought this meant it was ok). On Wednesday, she asked me to send the remainder to Walter Bunn but instead I went to my local bank branch and the manager informed me this was a scam and we worked to lock down my accounts. The two checks got identified as fraud and pulled back from by bank. I may or may not be able to recover the money, and in the meantime, I see job listings for Walter Bunn Tech Pro on various websites online and believe the Brillio website is a front for identity theft.
