BFAG Reports & Reviews (20)

Hi, my name is Rich Myers, i was told about bfag from a friend, i trusted them and they kept asking for me to buy more gift cards, and giving no help.i feel so used.is there anything i can do to get my money back ?
..

I didn't get past the description of BFAG before looking it up online and finding that it's a scam. They used pics from my Great Aunt, talked about a throat surgery, asked no followup questions from what I said, and had poor English. Here are a few of their responses:
Scammer: Hello?
How are you doing today hope you're having a wonderful day full of blessings?

I responded, and they should have answered a question I asked, but didn't.

Scammer: Just staying indoors and staying safe just tired of staying home at this time because am having problems with my throat which I later want for medical check up and the doctor advice me to stay away from phone calls till I finish my surgery. I want you to put me inside your prayers ?

Me: We'll pray for you! When is your surgery?

Scammer: Thank you! I'm having my surgery on the 24th of next month and I want you to keep praying for me till then ok ???

Me: I will!

Scammer: Thank you! I'll keep you posted on how it goes ok, I'm just wondering if you've heard the good news about the BFAG yet?

Me: What does BFAG stand for? And probably not?

Scammer: It is a bonus from Benefits and Financial Assistance from the Government trust fund...They're having a promotional program to help Retired, Workers, Youth, Old and Disable with cash in the society... Haven't you gotten anything from them yet?

Me: No, it looks like it's a scam, not a legitimate program

The scammer never responded. My actual great aunt has reported them several times for using her image, but Facebook hasn't taken down the account yet. I'm trying to get the word out to anyone the account was friends with that it's a scam, and my great aunt is doing the same. Even though I was friends with both the scammer and the legitimate account, I didn't recognize the scammer until they started communicating directly through messenger. It was after the unusual and unfamiliar communication that I began to feel suspicious, and of course as soon as BFAG was mentioned, a google search was all it took. I hope most people can catch the scam this early. I was lucky and did my own research, and that helped!

BFGA is a scam . They tried to scam me by using my sister-in-law picture from North Carolina
Weird thing was , they were using the improper name but right picture of her
I started chatting , told me she needed throat surgery and to pray for her in early May.
She said have you heard about BFAG program- giving benefits and Financial Assistance from
the gov’t trust to help retired workers, youth ,old aged and the disabled cash .
She went on to say did you get yours I saw your name on the list
Kept prodding me to press the link to Agent Berry Smith ( his picture was there )
I said I can’t get the link to work
She gave me 2 telephone numbers to text him .
I was already feeling uneasy
I texted Agent Berry Smith - said I will just check to see if you are on the list of eligible winners
Came back and said I was
I kept saying I think this is a scam
I gave some info.
They they said pick what level of winnings you want
I looked if I took 150,000 , I would pay 2000.00 fee for adm . FefEx etc.
I already know it was a scam but I played along and asked , how do I pay the 2000.00
Agent Berry Smith said in Apple gift cards
I said that is insane , I am not doing any thing of the sort
Then I came to this site to see other people’s stories
My sister in law’s picture said that is how I had to pay my upfront money and after they were verified ,
I got my cash delivered by FedEx . Try it , not like my sister in law would talk
Big rush to do everything , tell tale sign it is a scam .
I told this Agent Berry that I would not be involved , that I was out and know it is a scam

He took it very personally and was really put off
I blocked all the Berry Smith’s as there were about four and sent to F.B - scam
I deleted him from my phone
I could not call my sister inlaw last night as I live in Canada , her in U.SA so 3 hour time difference.
I called her this am Sat. April16/2023.
Of course it was not her talking . She was not going for throat surgery .
By the time I went up to look on the shortened form of her name , they had taken her picture down
Please be aware . They are really slick . Don’t do anything with them .
Thank God I did not send them the 2000.00 in Apple gift cards. I would of been out 2000.00 and if you do
sent it to them , they will demand more money to have FedEx deliver the money . This is what I have read on this site .

I believed a friend, first mistake. it's obvious to me he was possibly part of this scheme. He even sent a photo of the FEDX package w/ the cash he'd received. After connecting with a BFAG rep, the process went just as Victim 87108 described.

before sending the fee for the $100k, that was to be fedx'd in 6 hours, I checked back w/ my friend and he assured me, it was legit. He stated he'd paid the fee and got his "winnings". So after sending 1200.00, the "Agent" then tells me all was in order; just had to pay the FedX, delivery of $2550. Then lights went off, I advised the agent I had no further funds to send. He in turn sent me a photo of the Fedx shipping box w/ my information on it, stating is it's ready to ship once I sent the $$. I advised him, to forget it and just send the $1.200 back. Of course, that was a bust. I told him I felt this was a scam and I was done w/ them. The next day the "agent" texted me saying his manager said if I could pay 1,000., they'd release the winnings. I told him, to pay it for me and I'd send it back to him. People be very aware, nothing is free in this world. I'm out $1200. but I've learned a valuable lesson.

Too bad you are out the 1200.00 , I feel for you .
I was almost scammed but did not proceed ,saw so many red flags.
They hacked a picture of my sister in law from the U.S
After all this was said and done , speaking with sister in law this am
She did no such thing . They have now taken her picture down from Facebook and
messenger .

I’m trying to avoid a scam. Same as others I was referred by a friend that it is legit! He received his money and swear by it. It has to be a scam, anything that sound this good is usually not. I advise we do our homework. While I appreciate my friend referring me to contact them, I can’t!this is truly a scam. I have to let him know…so it will not effect him in a criminal case.

My mother received a message through Messenger from a cousin, so she thought, that asked if she has heard about the good news about (BFAG). The person said it is a bonus from Benefits and Financial Assistance from the government trust fund and a promotional program to help retired workers, youth, and old disabled with cash. The person said they had received the $100,000 cash and all she needed to do was contact Agent Dave in charge via text (830) 268-3238. Agent Dave sends a text message to my mother saying he is the agent in charge of the government grant fund B.F.A G. He asked for her full name and address to check if her name was on the list. He congratulated her and said her name was on the winners list and the grant money was available for her. He shows her a grid with the amount she will pay and the amount she will receive. He gave her instructions on how to pay with check or Vanilla gift cards at CVS store in increments of $100. The person from Messenger keeps messaging my mother to assure her this is true and not a scam. The agent makes my mother promise not to tell anyone about this for security reasons. My mother buys 6 gift cards ($100 each) and takes photos of the cards and receipt and sends to Agent Dave. My mother becomes skeptical because she hasn't received anything that next day. The agent then says he needs an additional $700 to make the delivery. My mother ends up purchasing 4 additional gift cards ($100 each) and sends. In all she has spent $1,000.00! By the time she told someone about what happened the cards had been used.

Through a friend on Facebook told me about applying for this free money and how they select people from Facebook. They sent me a message to fill out information and send copy of my ID. Then they wanted me to go by cards , then I became suspicious because I thought they were from the government and should issue checks.

I received a message through messenger from facebook. This person was using my Aunt's account, including a picture of my late uncle. I found it weird initially when my aunt said she had "good news", I thought that's really weird as my uncle passed away about 2 months ago and therefore I proceeded to question what the good news was about? this person then stated that "her life has changed for the better", I found that hard to believe considering my uncle recently passed and my aunt is not in a good place. This person then told me that I should click on a link for BFAG and they sent her $150,000, I said why would they do that? She said she didn't know but she didn't have to pay it back and I should go for it and fill out the application. I found it weird so I googled BFAG and see it is a scam on facebook. I contacted my aunt via her landline as this profile was showing up but it didn't make any sense. My aunt told me that her facebook was hacked. I still have the message and not sure where else I can report this. This is terrible and lucky I am aware of scams and question these things, but there are people who will not question this because it shows it is coming from a friend or relative on facebook.

The scammer contacted me using messenger, under a friends name and photo! Told me I'd receive money if I sent x amount of dollars via amazon gift card. My "friend" was telling me how it was for real, and I would get x amount of dollars if I did it. Well, then they wanted thousands for me to receive over 100,000. Needless to say they scammed me the 1st time, but not the second one. This was suppose to be the US government to help senior citizens. I was threatened .

They hacked a photo of a family member, pretending to chat and trying to share the information about this BFAG, a fake government grant program. The giveaway is both that the family photo will says that you you and this supposedly family are NOT connected, but in fact you know you are. Also, the responses from your pretended family member are not what your person would normally say, like “...doing pretty good, enjoying the moment of life. Have you heard the good news about (BFAG)?

my wife received a instant message asking her if she had been contacted in regard to a new Fed program that would send her a check for a large amount of money, she had a check for $70,000 with no strings attached, and she saw my wife's name on the list of people that were going to have the chance to receive this money, said the name of the company was BFAF and to contact agent Mason, at 860-866-1257

this is one of the messages sent to me on messenger:

Text the Agent Austin William on this text number (402) 749-2921 and let him know that you heard about the (BFAG) winnings and you are ready to claim yours too.

But they said I was on a list to get money from the government and then it’s telling me to claim my winnings!!?? Please be careful people!

A friend asked how I was doing by text, and I didn't notice for several days. When I responded, early yesterday am, he answered. Texted he saw my name on a list from BFAG (geared for the elderly, or disabled), and we texted back and forth a little. He gave me a number to contact. He then continued to interact with me while this other person texted. The said I was a winner but wanted my name, address, mother's middle name, salary, and number. I gave a couple of the basic answers, but said I was not comfortable giving my salary or number via text. I would like to talk to you and receive and email. I was told that wasn't how this worked. My friend insisted this is a trustworthy thing. After more questions he said he was given a check from fed ex for a large amount of money within four hours.

Now I'm even more alarmed....told the person on the text I couldn't deal with this until Monday. They of course contacted me in the afternoon when I didn't respond further. Is this real or fake?

Definitely fake. Check to see if the friend's account is really your friend. In my case, they just used a friend's pictures and made a phony account. My friend has been reporting the fake account, but they haven't been shut down yet
