My mom received a call from a person pretending to be with the Texas Arlington police department saying that my father who is on probation and was doing a work release program for the weekend in the county jail was stuck in there and that he would be stuck in there for 60+ days unless we paid them $1500 for him to get back out on probation. The call came from the number (415) 762-0289. My mom merged the calls with me and they even went as far as giving me a supervisors number who told me he’d accept a $500 down payment to get him out. When I asked for more information regarding payment the supervisor asked me if I had the money right now and when I said no he said “well when you get it call the other number and he’ll help you pay it”
