Person called claiming they wanted to verify a charge on a card (last 4 digits 1178), from a merchant Guns International and told me to go to the website If I wanted to validate it. They had my maiden name and previous address. They also provided an email address that sounded similar to a family members email claiming this was the address on file. They indicated that the card was opened on a specific date (July 13th) and approved card by Capital one discover was approved July 27th. They encouraged me to file a police report if it wasn’t legit, but when going into a branch the next day to validate, there was no record of the card or account she mentioned.
