I received a letter in the mail stating that my factory warranty is about to expire on my vehicle and to call a number listed on the letter to renew it

Called constantly from different numbers after I blocked each one, they'd call from a different number, saying I absolutely had to purchase a new car warranty immediately to continue driving in California, thst my Toyota needed replacement of recalled parts to my car. At first, it sounds free to the consumer, then they ask for your credit card info. These guys would call my cell phone several times a day for months, despite my requests to be taking off the list.

They said that I needed to extend my car warranty, they talked really fast telling me what I was receiving and when I called back 15 minutes later to get my money back they harassed me about why I wanted to get my money back

I (the husband) called the tel # on the letter. Gentleman on other end identified himself as Jason and he made some remarks about eating to much food for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Informed me that the coverage his company was offering covered every appliance and HVAC system and more. Very pressured conversation - for a $100 buy in - the offer sent to us would only be good for this phone call. If we did NOT take the offer NOW and called back - the offer would not be offered. My call was then sent to some bogus financial department to work financing. I insisted on receiving literature about this program. The representative took down (supposedly) my e-mail address and informed me that he would be sending me the literature. Since I did not receive any information for 4-5 hours - I called the 800 number and the SAME dude answered the phone. After telling him that I did not receive the literature and that I spoke to him earlier - he hung up on me. I called back and he was NASTY. Then I knew it was a fraud.

I received this slip in the mail saying my warranty on car was about to expire. This caused me to panic and so I called the number. The representative informed me that my warranty would be up in 12,000 miles and said I qualified for a "Platinum package", which in my mind sounded good at the time. Then the representative was pressuring me to pay for this "warranty". I was hesitant and wanted to make a decision later, but the representative said I would need to make a decision now, which made me feel like I needed to make an immediate decision. The representative offered payment plans, but I didn't have the budget to do what was offered. She said I could pay for the lowest option, which barely fit my budget, and I went for it. I questioned the name of the company calling and the representative reluctantly said "Warranty Protection Services". My debit card information, email address, phone number, and my car's VIN number was disclosed during the transaction. When I called back several times to cancel the service, the call would always go to voicemail. This occurred late November and since then, I reissued a new debit card, disputing a claim with my bank, reported the company to the FTC, and now reporting them here.

I continue to receive pink Motor Vehicle Service Notifications in the mail with no identifying company information only a scare tactic to call immediately or risk forfeiting coverage on my vehicle. I Googled the phone number and it came up as a known scam. I called the number adding *67 so I do not provide them with any personal information from me and was told the company was Evercare. I asked why there was no identifying information on the flier and why it was saying my coverage was at risk of expiring. I have coverage and it is not expiring. Upon looking into this company, it appears they use scare tactics, misleading information and try to trick people into signing up. Shame on them.

I received what looked like a $199 check in the mail. The mailing stated "HOME WARRANTY RENEWAL" and "FINAL RENEWAL NOTICE" but did not include any business name or address. The bottom of the mailing states "This voucher is not a check and holds no monetary value. Your voucher of $199 may be redeemed by activating new coverage." The only contact information is 888-688-8002 and 888-672-0043.

Received "official-looking" perforated letter -- refers to mortgage originator (Quicken Loans -- they no longer use that branding). They provide a voucher to go towards renewal of Home Warranty. They claimed they send two renewal notices (not true) and indicate FINAL NOTICE. They do NOT indicate the name, address, location of "the Warranty" company. Indicated that I can renew a Home Warranty (I DO NOT have a Home Warranty). They said it is okay if I do not have a Home Warranty, they will let me BUY one now! The provided a Renewal Fee Voucher for $199 in the letter. Spoke to a Supervisor ("Michael") who said they are Top ScamPulse.com rated. I doubted that since there is no company mentioned.

ScamPulse.com Scam Tracker Report entered on behalf of consumer by ScamPulse.com employee:

A concerned consumer called about a letter they received in the mail from Home Warranty Direct. It stated that his warranty was about to expire. Attached to the letter was a check for $199.00 to cover a registration fee. The business is located in S. Carolina, but no address located.

The following link shows other entries from other consumers who received the same letter https://www.scampulse.com/home-warranty-direct-reviews

The scam requested that I supply my VIN and current mileage for a "vehicle service contract."

Got a postcard in the mail with a prepaid postage from Boca Raton FL. Says Home Warranty Division on one side and County Deed Records on the other. Trying to make people think their home warranty is going to run out.

I keep getting calls from a 214 770 the last 4 digits change, daily. If I answer the call to find out what company is calling, they state that they are a warranty service and the warranty on my vehicle is expiring. I lease my vehicle so it's not needed and when I ask for them where they are located, they don't give a clear answer. I asked the rep from the 214 770 2051 number to take me off their list and before I can get the words out, they hang up.

Received a call from a spoofed number that duplicated the area code and first three digits of my phone number. Automated call prompt did not allow for being added to do not call list, so I selected the only option in order to reach a call center. When I asked who was calling, I was told Warranty Services three times. When I asked to have my name and number removed from their call list, the woman replied that she would not do that and hung up on me.

My number is on the national do not call list already so this is not only a spam call, but a violation of the national do not call registry.

I get a MINIMUM of 4-5 spoofed calls from a company calling themselves "Warranty Services" attempting to sell extended warranty on vehicles. They NEVER use the same number twice (always a spoofed number from our area AND cell prefix!!!). I have had them actually use a number of someone in my contact list!!!

WHY CAN'T SOMEONE STOP THIS CRAP!!!

We continue to get 2 to 4 calls a day from 228-6028; the individual identifies themself as Linda from Dealer Processing. I reported to Federal Trade Commission a couple days ago and now am reporting to you. Here is a log of the recent calls from this number: 03/17/2020 9:26 am; 03/18/2020 9:21 am, 3:29 pm, 3:58 pm, 5:57 pm; 03/19/2020 9:14 am

Electronic voice tells me to press 5 to be connected to the “Warranty department” when I call it’s a woman and she tells me to verify my year make and model of my car. I asked what company they were the warranty department of. She says “warranty services” so I ask again. She says that’s the name of the company, I then hang up.

I have been being harassed by the same company for months on end. I repeatedly have opted out and asked for my number to be removed. Im pretty sure it's a scam and they call at least 4 calls a day everytime from a new number i have removed my number repeatedly, spoken directly to them and asked them to remove me from their call list. And have blocked every number they call from and they just generate a new number and keep calling. Whenever i try to call the number back it's a non-working number. I just want peace. My phone is constantly ringing and i hate answering any unknown number because it's constantly this company.

A company calling themselves Warranty Services continues to call, even when you use the option to be put on the "do not call" list. They hang up as soon as you ask questions about their business, such as where are the located or how many times you have to hit the do not call option. Because they call me sometimes daily and sometimes call more than once per day, I have asked to speak to their supervisor. They hang up. They state their records show your auto warranty is about to expire. In my case, this is not true. They started calling me the first year I purchased my car. Blocking their number does not work. Today, 27 March 2018, they have called three times and each time a different phone number shows on the ID.

Extended warranty on my car (I do not and have never owned one). Asks for the year or model (something innocuous), but hangs up upon any questioning.

- Sylacauga, AL, USA

The calls keep coming from an area code that is the same as mine. I would call the number back (connecting me to an actual human) and they know nothing of the call. I think they use other peoples numbers to call you on. This has happened to me like 3 different times, where they said they did not call. Its always about my car's warranty about to expire. I have asked them many times to remove me from the call list, either by pressing the number or by asking a real person.

The area code is always 504, but that may be because it is my area code as well.
