I got a text message from (allegedly) USPS telling me a package I have been waiting for needs to be redelivered and it would cost 3.00. I filled in my info, but then it got to the credit card part and I figured I'd better check it out. That's when I found out it was a scam.

- New Haven, CT, USA

Redelivery charge for usps.

- West Hartford, CT, USA

Received text saying "The carrier cannot deliver because your package address is not detailed. Please update the address details. **********************. I was expecting a delivery today so I clicked on the link. It looked like the USPS website and asked for my address and email, which I entered. It then said my package needed to be redelivered and prompted me to enter a credit card number to pay a mandatory fee of $3,00. I then closed the site.

Got a text message and was distracted so put in all of my information including credit card info before realizing the website was not functioning properly, though it appears to take you directly to USPS.com and all the other links work to usps.com. The message says: "FRM:USPS. MSG: You have a package thats need to be delivered, but it has been suspended due to and incorrect delivery address.

- Bardstown, KY, USA

Text message said pkg could not be delivered . Needed correct address with a $3 receiver fee.

- Denver, CO, USA

I received a text message saying it was from USPS and that I needed to pay $3 to have my address corrected for redelivery. I clicked through and the website looked exactly like the USPS website but now that I return to the site, the url is my.delivery-package.q77j.live and safari gives a warning that they are trying to steal my personal information. I paid the $3 and then a few days later there was a charge at a retailer in new york that went through, and a day later my card was attempted for almost $500 at Target

- Fort Myers, FL, USA

I was emailed and sent a USPS Priority Mail Envelope. A single sheet of instructions as well as a check to be deposited was in the USPS Priority Mail Envelope. I was instructed to deposit the the check and immeadiately purchase 2 gift cards as a secret shopper. Urgency was used as I would be eligible for a bonus. I was suspect from the get go and didn't fall for the SCAM.

- Port Clinton, OH, USA

In a text msg, I was contacted by "USPS, stating that for $1.50, my sent package could be returned to me.

I put in my credit card number. It said the card did not support the $1.50 charge and I should submit another credit card number. That's when I looked it up and saw this is a complete scam; USPS Never charges for returned mail or packages!

I do not know if putting in my credit card number has been charged any scam money amount, but hopefully will find out soon!

- Castle Rock, CO, USA

The text stated:

Postal: Your package can not be delivered because the package address does not match the street information. Kindly update address https://s.id/1rZ1S

We just relocated from Texas to Colorado, so we have had packages get lost in the shuffle. It seemed like it could be a valid thing. The link redirected me to a page that was inline with the usps website, which I have visited often in recent weeks. It asked me to update my address for redelivery and then stated there was $.09 in postage that needed to be paid. I entered my CC info to pay the postage for delivery.

- Easley, SC, USA

I received a text message as follows- "[US Postal_Notice}Your package could not be delivered due to an incorrect address. Please upload the correct address immediately: https://www.us-poj.us"

And upon clicking that website, everything looked legitimate but nothing was clickable except the boxes requesting information such as address and phone number.

THE TEXT SAID MY PACKAGE ARRIVED AT THE FULFILLMENT CENTER AND THEY NEEDED MORE INFORMATION SINCE THE ADDRESS DID NOT MATCH THE ZIP CODE. THERE WAS A LINK TO uspmerspt.info/bkgd. I WENT AHEAD AND WENT TO THE LINK. THERE THEY WANTED ADDRESS INFO AND THEN ASKED FOR PAYMENT INFORMATION SINCE THEY HAD TO CHARGE $3.00 TO REDELIVER THE PACKAGE. I DID NOT SUBMIT ANY INFORMATION. I ALSO CALLED MY LOCAL POST OFFICE TO MAKE SURE IT WAS A SCAM. THEY ASSURED ME THAT THEY DO NOT CONTACT CUSTOMERS THROUGH TEXT OR EMAILS.
