When looking up passport application, this website came up. Quickly filled out the official passport form (giving information), and then charged me for what was implied to be the passport application. Later, I realized this was a third party, and they were charging exorbitant fees simply to put the information I had filled out onto the official form, something that anyone could do by themselves, or do on the state departments website. I was charged for the passport "application", additional fees, and an additional $30 for "passport protection", something that is meaningless when this company has no ability to actually get anyone a passport

I needed to renew my passport, so I did a google search and this was the first website that came up. I went through the steps for what I thought was renewal and put in my personal information including my social security number. I paid 151.00 to receive only a filled in PDF with even more instructions to send it in and pay again to the actual government. Come to find out this form is free on the actual government website. They also offered an "additional service" that was around $34.00 to expedite your passport in the event that it is lost or stolen which I did not select. But this also makes the consumer believe even further that they are paying to receive an actual renewed passport, not just a document to send in and like I said, pay again.

When I went on line to renew my passport, the US Passport Submission / Expedite Media LLC site came up. I'm normally adept at spotting fraud / fake / scam sites, but this seemed like a legit site. I downloaded the renewal forms, submitted my payment and just recently received an email and letter from the State Dept National Passport Center that they don't take such payments, and that I still owe them the fee.

I went to apply for a new passport, the website is set up very similar to most government websites. Went through the entire process not seeing the same colored font on a similar color stating they are not a government agency. Made a separate passport appointment at a local office for processing as per the instructions, once I received my completed DS-11 where the information I entered was filled in. I went to my appointment and was told that unless they provided me a label to submit my application myself, I would have to repay and the proof of payment/invoice was not sufficient. This is a common scam/third party that does not provide all details and information to the client prior to taking payment.
