My mother received a call on her cell phone from a phone number she didn't recognize, but it looked to be in her area. The call started with a brief introduction followed by "Do you hear me?", to which my mother responded "yes". As the person went on, she realized it was a questionable call, so she hung up. After hearing about the "Do you hear me" scam, she is now concerned that she has been scammed.

I received a call about extending my vehicles warranty (my car is 12 yrs old). I've requested several times in the past not to be called. The female recording asks if I want to speak to a representative now? I said yes, the question was then repeated. I again said yes. The question was repeated a third time and when I started to say yes, the line was disconnected. It was only then that I remembered the scam going around now where someone calls and asks "Can you hear me?". I'm afraid I just unknowingly agreed to something and I have no idea what that is.

The person asked if I could hear them, I said yes, then she went into a sales pitch. When I tried to stop them, there was a click and the voice slightly changed. It resumed by asking if I would just answer a few questions. The recording of the speaker was very realistic, but I'm now sure it was a recording.

Today at 308pm I received a call, the line broke and the caller said "can you hear me?". Unfortunately, I thought it was my son's teacher calling and I said "yes". Then the "caller" proceeded to tell me about an offer to stay at a resort. I then realized it was a recording and not a live person. I hang up.

"Josh" said he was from customer service. Then asked if I could hear him..... I was stupid and said YES. He then went on to tell about a vacation.... and then I realized.... I'd been had. I asked who the company was, but it was a robo-call. I hung up.

I received a call at 3:07 p.m. 3 Feb 2017 from (813) 489-4185. The person on the line asked, "Can you hear me? I am calling from the customer service department and you have been selected to win a free vacation." I said, "Yes, what company are you with." He went into his pitch without identifying his company. I tried to cut him off and tell him that I was not interested; he would not quit talking, so I hung up. I am concerning that he recorded my "Yes" and this will be edited to me agreeing to something.

CALL WAS A RECORDING ABOUT WINNING A TRIP. A COUPLE OF SENTENCES INTO THE CONVERSATION THE CALLER WAS ASKING, "CAN YOU HEAR ME?" I SAID YES BEFORE REALIZING IT WAS A RECORDING. I WAS TOLD ABOUT THE "YES" SCAM WHERE YOU RECEIVE A PHONE CALL AND ARE ASKED, "CAN YOU HEAR ME?" AND THE RECORDED "YES" IS TAKEN AND USED AS AN AGREEMENT TO SOMETHING, WHETHER IT BE A CHARGE OR A PURCHASE FOR SOMETHING.

I believe this may be part of the Can You Hear Me scam. When I answered, a voice said, "This is Jeff from the customer service department, can you hear me ok?" Unfortunately I answered yes, but then quickly hung up the phone.

Received call - answered hello. There was a pause, I said "yes?" Caller proceeded to say something about trouble with headset, then followed with some statement "since you've recently stayed at one of our resorts". I immediately hung up and blocked number - no other discussion.. Have received several of these. I'm on no call list as well.

They called on our land line (in Orangevale, CA) and the first thing they said was, "Can you hear me?" And my husband answered YES. Then he hung up. This just happened at 10:20am this morning 2/2/17. We reported it to the Federal Trade Commission.
