Someone called with a british accent and Asked "Am I audible?"

- Kaysville, UT, USA

Received a call from an unknown number--I never answer those. Call went to voice mail. Computer voice stating I have an IRS debt and a warrant for my address, blah, blah, blah.

- Spokane, WA, USA

They call me on occasion and when I attempt to follow the prompt to be removed from their call list their is no one available everytime and says the number is disconnected. It's for a mortgage scam

- Fairfax Station, VA, USA

While distracted with activity going on in the house I answered our land line phone. A male voice asked if he could speak to me by name. Without thinking I said "Yes." At that point the conversation ended.

- Cleveland, OH, USA

other number from bus. 213-640-3021- 2016 taxes owed in the amount of $3786/00 , I provided the scam a payment by prepaid credit card. The payment was on 6/5/17 and co. is calling again for balance.

- Vancouver, WA, USA

Contacted by 13602416333 to try to record me saying yes, by an automated machine. I said nothing then called the number back. The man who answered the phone said that he has had his number choir seven years and wouldn't listen to me telling him that his number is being used to scam people. He said thank you at the end and I accidentally responded with *yep* so hopefully he isn't the bad guy and really has no idea. Otherwise I accidentally said the word he wanted me to.

- Norristown, PA, USA

I received a call. After I said hello a 'beep' was heard followed by a woman's voice asking "can you hear me." Based on my previous knowledge of this scam I said 'NO' and hung up. Therefore, I do not know the nature of the scam these lifeless, evil, bloodsucking people were attempting to pull.

A call came in and went directly into my voice mail. The caller (electronically modified voice) claimed that a no-bail arrest has been issued in my name and I should call 816-281-3727 for assistance to intervene in the arrest. I did not call.

A pre-recorded voice of a woman was on the phone offering a vacation package to Florida and the Bahamas for a low price and I just let her talk as if I was responding to her pauses. Anyway, I waited until the end of her talking and she asked something like, "Does this all sound good?". The robot wanted me to say "Yes" but I hung up. They can later use the "yes" to confirm transactions with my information. Just hang up.

- Lake Jackson, TX, USA

Number identified as from a friend. Offered opportunity for walmart. Target. Or Walgreens 200 $$ gift card. Ask which card wanted and would i answer a few questions?

Agreed to completing questions, transfered, the recorder voice that not i was not going any farther and hung up.

Calling to sell warrenties

- Austin, TX, USA

Simply one of those sites that call and record you saying "yes". Unfortunately they said, "Hello?", and I responded "Yes?" Then silence on the other end. I new then it was a scam and wished I hadn't said Yes.

- Centerton, AR, USA

A robotic call from this number notifying the IRS is going to arrest me for nonpayment of taxes. I know that the IRS doesn't call and that I'd get something in the mail, at least at first.

Caller has called many times in the last month, claiming that a virus software support business is attempting to issue a refund and needs to have me go to a website and fill out info for the refund. Clearly this is a scam. Court ordered refunds are issued through the mail, scammed persons are never required to go to websites and issue personal information for refunds from out of business entities.

They called twice and kept asking if we know someone and other questions to get us to say "Yes"

Prototypical "Grandparent Scam." Received a phone call stating that it was my grandson. They said that he was in the Dominican Republic and was in a car accident and was being held at the American Embassy. He needed $5000 to be released. When I started asking questions, they hung up.

- Spring, TX, USA

Received a call from this number. They asked if I was the head of the household. They're seeking a "Yes" response so they can record your voice authorization.

- Berlin, CT, USA

Seemed to be a recording (afterthought) that asked if I could hear them to solicit the answer "yes." Now I'm concerned about what they will use my recorded voice to authorize.

- Edmond, OK, USA

I received a local phone call to my cell phone. I am a sales director for a hotel so I answered the phone as usual. "Hello this is....." and stated my name. Once I was finished they said, "Can you hear me?" and I quickly responded "Yes" to then realize I probably shouldn't have. They hung up and once I called back the phone number gave me a busy signal.

- Burlington, CT, USA

SCAM! These people have been calling me every few months for years. Always call asking for "Jorge". When I say they have the wrong number they just go directly into their sales pitch. Something about breast cancer. I have asked to be removed from the list on multiple occasions. They just hang up on you at that point. I have blocked number but they'll just call from a different one.
