I got a letter from Unity Holdings Lottery saying I'd won $900,000. They included an advance check for about $13,000 dated 02/12/2021, and it's supposed to be voided after 90 days. The letter said I'd been chosen based on an at-purchase entry from a grocery store. The check is meant to cover initial fees for the claim, which the letter says will amount to about $10,000. There were several issues with this story. I never entered a sweepstakes, the letter had been sent to a previous address, the letterhead and the check had two different addresses (Seattle and Ontario), none of the companies mentioned come up on google, and the check was already out of date. I suspect they intended for me to call and give them my bank information, but I took it no further than reading the letter.
