This was followed by a text message to my cell about an hour later urging me to hurry up and accept the email. I looked up the company and the website seemed legit, but when I called the phone number, they had an automated answering service that said press one for company 1 and then press 2 for company 2. After that, a message of "all of our operators are busy, please leave a message".

There was no request for an interview, the email signature has no website address, phone number or social media links as most large companies do.

This guy "Shawn Rogers" also does not exist on Linkedin. Seems very fishy to me.

The company has you apply for a job, sends a welcome to the team email offering $27 for remote data entry work without being interviewed and only based on your applications. The company sends you a check addressed to the name you are given through the mail to purchase supplies needed for training. The check comes for $2450.00 through USPS priority mail with only the check. The number provided has no answer on the website although the website looks legit, the whole experience almost had a young adult tricked into cashing the check.

I applied for a couple REMOTE Data Entry Specialist positions on LinkedIn. I was contacted by someone on LinkedIn about a Data Entry Specialist position that worked for one of the companies I had applied with. This individual had a LinkedIn account with 500+ connections. I sent them a connection invite with a message about the inquiry to confirm/deny. I emailed the contact that was mentioned in the message about more information. They responded back saying that I was offered the job (no interview requested) but I would need to complete a background check. The person that originally messaged me on LinkedIn then posted on LinkedIn that his account was compromised. He posted an image of the same message I had received referencing it in his warning. I did not reply further and initiated reporting to BBB.
