I got an email for a job oppurtunity as a secret shopper. I thought the job was real because they sent a mobile check($1450) and when I tried to deposit it, the check went through. I ended up spending the money($1000) from the deposited check to buy the gift cards they asked for. I would only keep $450 and the $1000 goes to them for the cards. After a couple days, the check bounced and when I called the bank, they said that the check was fake. This might be a scam. Today morning, they have sent me another email for this. I did not respond to that email. Here are the following email conversations about this job oppurtunity scam: Dear ********* ******, Your check and memo with detailed instructions for your first survey assignment are ready. Please scan the check using your mobile app or upload the front and back images on your PC, then capture them with your mobile app. Be sure to sign the back of the check digitally or electronically where it says “Endorse Here” before depositing. Once the deposit is complete, kindly send the receipt for confirmation. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. We look forward to your completed survey report. Best regards, Harrison D. Walter Survey Coordinator (385) 343-7873 When I looked at the checks, I noticed that the check companies from the first and second one are different. The second email asked me to do the same thing with spending $1000 in gift cards and keeping $500 for me. The second check amount is $1500. Is there anyway I can get the $1000 back? Who can I contact to get the money back?
