On 11/21/2023, my computer was locked, and a flashing ad said to call this number to get it unlocked. I called the number and a woman said she was installing a firewall to remove all the malware, and it would be $399.00. She transferred me to a man who said he was cleaning up all my fake files, and i could get a three year subscription for $650.00. He made sure I completed a check and requested a check number. He also took a picture of the check #1039, and to be sure to mail it to Select IT LLC po box 310926 , Alanta GA> 31131. The next day a woman called me and asked if I had any problems with my computer. I said it was running ok. She asked if I had mailed the check, I said I would mail it Friday. She gave me a phone number to call her when the check was mailed. (929)-992-8275, from Albany NY> she also mentioned to ignore any phone calls I may receive stating this company is out of business.

I will not mail this check, because this is a scam, but I did give them a picture of my check. I also read how other seniors had been scammed from this team, and wonder how to resolve this scam.
