this person name Shannon at ex 1366 called my cell phone telling me she was from student loan health center and was calling to help me with student loan forgiveness. So I let her talk and she even got into my student loan account and changed my password on my account which I haven't checked yet to see if it has been changed. She went through the program with me and everything sounded good until she told me I needed to pay them $499.00 in order to process all the paperwork. I had to ask her to call me back because I needed to take care of some business while I was at work and she was suppose to call me back at 6:30pm but didn't call back until 7:15 in which I didn't answer. So the next day I called the number back and a guy answered the phone and he said this is the student health center and so I asked for Shannon and he transferred me to her and she begin to tell me about the program again in which that is when she mentioned the 499 fee (red flag) and that she would need my debit or credit card information (another red flag) Thank God I didn't have my debit card on me because me not thinking I would have gave it to her. so I told her she had to call me back at another time because I didn't have it on me. In the meantime I called the number back and pretended to be someone else and started asking questions what was the name of the company, what was their address, did they have a email address or website and the man immediately got frustrated on why I was asking these questions and put me on hold when he came back I started asking the same questions again and he said if you want to sign up for the program you can so I said can I sign up on your website and he said no you can sign up that way and I said well why cant I sign up on your website and he immediately hang up on me. I am still waiting to see if the lady is going to call me back at 2:30 in which I am going to let her know I know she is a scam artist trying get money from me. I cant believe I almost got scammed.
