I received an email that encouraged me to call for student loan forgiveness. The email had my name (misspelled) and my actual street address. When I called the call center, they asked about how much I had in student loans and discussed that they could consolidate my loans and enroll me in the SAVE program. When I told them that I was already enrolled in the SAVE program, they didn't ask for any more personal information. I was told that they are a "third party company" that works with federal loan lenders. Any of these services can be obtained through my student loan servicer. I see no reason for a third-party company to be involved

Scammer said that my student loans have been marked as eligible for forgiveness under the new 2024 guidelines and that I need to call them to help.

I called the number provided in the email. The person who answered was a woman. The call became disconnected and then she called me immediately back at this number 480-407-4506. She was very professional and explained a lot about the process. She mentioned that I would no longer be making payments to my loan provider and the government would send me a separate email to get into the loan forgiveness program. They asked for my social, address, what I do for work, etc. This was “application” to get into the loan forgiveness program.
