I was contacted by Steve Judge - [email protected] for a job with Michael Baker International(MBI). Steve mentioned that based on my profile the company had decided to offer me the position. He sent me an offer letter that was told to sign and return back to him to confirm the job. Thereafter, he mentioned to provide an address to which he will be mailing a check to get the laptop for the remote position. I did provide my address and he sent me the check that I deposited into my account. I told him that based on the check provided the laptop in question could not be ordered. He wanted to order a Macbook Pro laptop for the position. He mentioned to work with a vendor that had previously worked for MBI - Deborah White - [email protected]. Deborah who goes by Deb mentioned that she will be able to provide the laptop at the cost mentioned even though Apple categorically mentioned that they will not be able to provide the laptop at that cost. I did sense something strange about this and called the LA office for MBI to inquire about the position. I was told that no Steve ever worked for MBI and the position did not exist and they had heard of multiple people getting scammed job offers. I have informed the fraud depart of my bank also about this. Let me know if you need any other information.
