When you call for service & ask for a quote they say nothing about a $225 "hook up" charge and when you tell them you're not going to pay it they say it's YOUR fault for not asking about it, really this is what they tell you. When you tell them you don't want the tow anymore they already have your vehicle on the truck & refuse to take if off until you pay the fee so they hold your vehicle hostage to extort the money from you. $545 to tow my vehicle 4.5 miles to the repair shop. Then they refuse to give you a receipt by signing on a tablet as they know you can't dispute it with the credit card company without one. You call and call and call and nope you never get one even though they say they emailed it to you. I can only believe now that this company is run by the Chicago Mafia. They have many locations which I have discovered through so many other scam reviews so I can only recommend you don't use any of them. You've been warned, call them at your bank accounts risk...

Basically an extortion racket

Effectively an extortion racket. My car was stuck at the end of my driveway and this company was the first result. They had an ad saying their prices started at $65. When I called and asked for a tow they said they'd be there in 10-20 minutes. When I asked for a price, they obfuscated. When my tow finally showed up nearly an hour late and after 3 calls asking the dispatcher where the driver was, I asked him the cost and he said he didn't know. He hooked up my car and pulled it the 6 inches or so it needed to go.

Then with my car still latched to his truck he told me the cost was $320. I immediately called the dispatcher who claimed this was a "standard fee" (it is not, no reputable tow company would charge such a ludicrous amount). Additionally, he refused to speak to my insurance.

With my car now effectively being held hostage and already being late to work I had no choice but to pay. Now, about four hours later I still have yet to receive the receipt they claimed they would be texting me (they have my number, there is no excuse). Make no mistake, this is extortion. They obfuscated their prices (which are not openly listed on their website), have yet to provide me with a receipt, charge blatantly grossly inflated fees, and forced me to pay under the threat of confiscating my car.

I have already filed complaints with the FTC & BBB, I will also be disputing the charge with my bank. This company engages in blatant extortion & price gouging, how they have not been shut down is beyond me.

Women... DO NOT CALL THEM! I called and asked for a quote, was quoted $4 a mile. I asked again and stated that it was only going about 6 miles away, he repeated $4 a mile. I was charged $195 to hook it up! They never told me that even when I asked twice! I would have pushed the car home myself!

If you are in need of a tow truck in Chicagoland area, DO NOT USE SPEEDY G TOWING. They are a scam and will rip you off! My car broke down and it was in need of a towing service. I looked up this company and when I called to ask for rates they told me it was a flat fee of $65 and $3 per mile when. I got to my Destination the charge was totally different than what I had been quotes. I called back to confirm the price they explained again it was $3 per mile. The office told me I was charged for 50 miles. I said we drove 15 miles so where did the other 35 miles come from. Not until then was I informed the miles is including the mileage that the driver drove to get to my location. However, they did not state that when I initially asked for a quote. I had a family member call inquiring about pricing and they were told the same thing, that it was a $65 flat fee plus $3 per mile. So we confirmed a scenario that if you were driving 10 miles plus a $65 fee that would be $110 and that price was confirmed. When we asked why I was charged a significantly different amount than that the business backtracked and tried to correct themselves. They miss lead on the pricing and are not totally transparent with you on costs. My driver was very accommodating, however this company does not give its costumers the real pricing.
