I googled “Southwest Airlines customer service” for help buying airline tickets over the phone. The website appeared to be southwest & I wound up buying airline tickets from someone imitating Southwest Airlines. I called instead of booking online for better help/service since this was my first time buying airline tickets. The name of the two charges on my credit card statement is “Southwes”, not “Southwest”. I went on the Southwest app to alter my flight & noticed wrong information on my account, then called the real Southwest customer service number I got off the app, the representative told me the email on my account was listed as “[email protected]” which is immediately recognized by representatives at Southwest as a scam email because it is used often. Prior to calling Southwest, I called the original booking number that I had used to book in order to alter my flight. I called 7 times & waited a combined 55 minutes with no answer. The wrong email listed above had received my confirmation number, personal information, payment information & flight information. I had to cancel & rebook to secure the confirmation number so that person would not be able to use my tickets. The southwest representative then strongly suggested I report them to the FTC & BBB. I have been scammed out of $900 & am praying I win the dispute with my credit card company to get my money back. It is pure evil to prey upon people & take their money, especially with the state of things being the way they are & the cost of living being so high. I worked hard to save the money for these tickets & am extremely upset & hurt that this happened. I feel completely violated & taken advantage of. I work hard for my money & it has been illegally taken from me. Thank you for your time & consideration.
