"The purpose of this call is regarding enforcement action which has been executed by the US treasury against your SSN. Ignoring this would be an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearances before the magistrate judge or exempt jury for a federal criminal offense. So before this matter goes to federal claims court house or you are arrested kindly call us back on our number 281-601-4160. I repeat 281-601-4160 as soon as possible."

The caller said to call him back at the department division phone number. When I call back the caller needed my my last 4 digit of my social security number to verify to better assist me with my issue. If no phone call we will put a warrant for your arrest.

I am just placing a report to the BBB about this scam phone call I received today and I want to know what happens with this type of scam phone calls? I do not want to talk to the media or anyone.

I received a call with a case number DC101768 stating there was suspicious activity with my social security. When I called back he requested for my security number, he did not have an accent, and there was no background noise.

- Hillsboro, OR, USA

I received a phone call from this number 210-446-5474 saying that my SS has been compromised and in order to fix it I have to pay $5000

- Boise, ID, USA

Keep getting a robo-call not a person from this number telling me my Social Security Number will be 'turned off' due to suspicious activity and to call to rectify. The call was not completely captured in voice mail so not sure how the scammer identified themselves and not about to answer the call to find out. I looked up the number on-line and it comes from Bismark North Dakota. I did check my identify protection to make sure this was not legitimate which I knew it wasn't.

- Rochester, NY, USA

Received 7 automated calls between 8:30am - 10:00am.

Message says it is an officer from social security. They found suspicious activity on my social and if I don't call the phone number back to verify information my social security number will be suspended.

- Olympia, WA, USA

Albert H*** (ID#198253) called first called and said that my SSN and name had been used to purchase items that were found in a car that is associated with murders, drugs and other illegal activities. They said I needed to go to the bank and draw out all my money from my bank. After I did that I needed to tell them it was done and they would give me the number to call to deposit that money into another account that was to be set up for me. Like a fool I followed their directions and flew from my work to the bank. I withdrew the money but the tellers told me to hang up. At this time I had the bank talk to the person on the phone. At that time it dawned on me that this was a pretty shady deal. I put the money back into my account and am in the process of contacting the credit card companies to put a hold on these accounts.

The address of the offender (given to me by a second person named Michael P***) is *** ** *** *** *** ** *** ** ***. It's a scam, too.

- Boise, ID, USA

They are threatening to “suspend” my “social”. They have called three times this morning on my cellphone.

- Belfair, WA, USA

On 12/12/19 a robocall tells us to call immediately because our social security number is connected with suspicious activity.

These people need to go to jail and their scam operations closed down!

Said it was a pre recorded message from SS stating that benefits have been terminated. That’s when I hung up

- Otis Orchards, WA, USA

Caller said I had criminal activity attached to my social security number and needed to confirm my number and I needed to clear it up. I hung up before he told me how much I had to pay.

- Spring, TX, USA

I received 2 robo-calls from someone identifying themselves as Annie Marcus, Social Security Agent, who stated my Social Security number had been associated with criminal activity. I was advised to call 469-856-8856 immediately or action would be taken. I did not call, as I do not believe this call actually came from the Social Security Administration. I do not know if the scammer is attempting to take money, as I did not return the calls.

210-209-9372 claiming to be the Social Security. Saying that someone is using our Social Security number and have to call them.
