Sent my resume to an email address posted in a Facebook jobs group. Was then directed to a person on Microsoft Teams for a “text interview”. Offered a position the next day and then that person wanted me to deposit a check for $3,650 into my bank in order to purchase office equipment. it was at this time I started to get suspicious and called the company to try and verify legitimacy. Could not contact anyone at the company. The individual on Teams had very suspect diction, grammar, and syntax in the messages that did not seem like a legit professional. After some attempts to push me to deposit the check I stated that I would not proceed until I could verify that everything was real and above-board. Then that person stopped messaging me
