I am an undergraduate student at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and will be graduating in August. I applied for a "Customer Service and Marketing Representative" position with Shen Solutions, Inc. I received a phone call the following day from someone claiming to be with the company asking to set up an interview with me. I interviewed with them on July 6, 2020 with a man with dark hair who said he was the hiring manager. After the interview, he asked to set up a second interview with me on July 8, 2020 to discuss the position further and discuss salary. I began to research the company more tonight and found that the man I spoke to during my interview is actually the CEO and President of the company. His name is William Chavez. I found his LinkedIn page and researched the other companies that he had worked for. Before Shen Solutions, he stated that he had worked at "Kaizen MG". When I looked up this website, they shared the same pictures that Shen Solutions has on their website. This is when I knew that something was definitely off because they same group of people cannot work at two different places in different states at the same time. In addition to this, he only works at jobs for a year at a time. There is an article on reddit that states that they need to recruit 5 people and on their ziprecruiter posting, it said that they were looking for 5 full time people to fill positions. They recruit these 5 people, do not pay them, have them travel everywhere, and live together in hotel rooms. Lastly, I called the number that had been used to contact me and found that it is a pre-paid phone. I do not want anyone else's time to be wasted like mine was and I hope this helps other young professionals.
