I was offered a job as a marketing manager and they told me that I’d be able to travel wherever I wanted and it’s paid for I’m gonna be getting 35K a year with 1500 in commission for selling cell phones through AT&T, but before the orientation, I had to do online trainings and fill out personal information on some websites and they were not secure or authorize through AT&T so I go to the orientation there’s also another girl there and it’s the guy that told me he would be my mentor so I get there and I’m asking about the position just clarifying that I was going to be a marketing manager and he said that everyone starts at the bottom position as sales, which is not what I signed up for. I also wanted to mention that he was kind of pressuring me to quit my job as a server And I said no, I would like to keep my job so I just had to add that in because there was multiple things that shouldn’t have been pressured for me to do in order to do this job. so it was assured office space it was kind of like a community office space not their specific office space they said that they had just arrived in Bend and basically our job would be to go to stores like Costco and we’d be selling this phone service plan that was not actually associated with AT&T itself. after the orientation I sent him a message saying I did not want to move forward with this position in the training videos. It said that it was a very honest sales role. They were very much heavy on promoting with honesty and in person sales, so I said something along the lines of, I am not going to be selling phones that are not under AT&T. It’s hypocritical that it’s not directly through AT&T, but we’re somehow being honest about this. He replied back and said I’m sorry that this role came off as just a sales role which this rubbed me the wrong way because , he had told me at the orientation after I clarified multiple times what the role exactly would be and there was just never any clear communication. I fear

That I gave them my Social Security number on one of the unsecure websites that they had me fill information out like you do before getting a job to get paid because essentially that was what he said if I fill this out, I’d be getting paid. So after I sent that message, I have been getting continuous emails Saying that on their end, the files that I had submitted for orientation had been reviewed and finalized after I had told them I no longer want to go through with this position. I also wanted to mention that during the orientation, he got really excited when we had filled out that information because he said that nobody usually fills it out. during the orientation, he was also saying things like you can make as much money as you want doing this. We have a financial coach and she has $5 million saved up already and I’ve already multiplied what I made last year and just making these promises to us that we can travel wherever we want all paid for and we can make as much money as we want. I also wanted to mention that he explained that everybody starts at the bottom and works their way up, so everyone is guaranteed to move up in the company and he explained that the guy above him had mentored him and now he’s learning business management now this is his new role name and he’s recruiting people, and we are going to be under his mentorship which is also under the mentorship of the guy above him.
