I was contacted by a fake LinkedIn profile using the name Jamie Woodrow but their profile picture was of an actress Anna Clols. Jamie reached out to me asking if I was interested in becoming a recruiter because their client offers an online course. Jamie went on the tell me that recruiters typically make between $50k-$100k Salary + bonuses. Intrigued I asked for more info upon which time I was given a link to their website hosted by Teachable. The website offered the courses for $200-$300. I was immediately suspicious when I noticed the website used stock photos next to the testimonials and I could find NO information on the company anywhere. When I told Jamie I was suspicious she told me the CEO decided to offer me the course for free under the guise of building community trust. I politely declined and Jamie tried provoking me by insulting my current income to which I replied professionally. Jamie then went on to say that perhaps I would like to speak with the CEO to which agreed. I was told the CEO's name was Christopher but I was given a phone number registered to a Carrie Milbank. I noticed that a Carrie Milbank was connected on LinkedIn to the fake Jamie Woodrow profile and put two and two together. I called the “CEO” and when I confronted them with all the information they refused to address it and tried to reassure me that their company was legitimate.
