I got an email from Quick Books saying my subscription was re-newing today and they would be taking $500 out of my account. I do not have have an account with Quick Books. The email also said I could call 888-636-3143 if this was not my account. I just called my bank instead.

I work for a Law Enforcement agency in MN. I was contacted by a reporting party who advised they are out $37,000 due to a tech service scam. The victim advised they utilize QuickBooks by Intuit and they were contacted by the telephone number 844-960-3668 ext 3031 by an individual who identified themselves as QuickBooks service representative. The victim had the telephone number saved on file from prior contacts with QuickBooks from years prior so assumed the number was valid. The victim sent money though credit card and EFT (Electronic Fund Transfers) for annual updates and service transactions. The email utilized was [email protected]. Once the victim began to question the individual, the number was disconnected and a new representative began to contact them.
