The person scammed is an elderly friend of mine. I think she was originally contacted by email. She has been led to believe that a book she had published is wanted by MGM to be made into a movie. Jake Lee, the "Literary Agent" calls her honey, dear, to warm her up. The contact name he gave my friend is the Chief Legal Officer of MGM, not someone who scouts movies. Jake also said he was in touch with Simon Schuster who was interested in the book. I contacted the Fraud email for SS and they have never heard of this man. We think the company is located in the Philippines. Jake also convinced her to pay for the Frankfurt Book Fair where he said MGM was going to bring the contract for the movie. There has been a movie trailer to make.... every week it is more money. She is on a VERY limited income certainly does not have the funds for this but has been enticed by promises of huge payments.
