Publishers clearing house said I won 975,00 dollars and new car. Wanted us to pay the taxes and pay at Bank of America

I was contacted today, 2/2/2016, by a person declaring I had won $500K in a "publisher's clearing house" drawing. The person told me I had been selected No. 2 in a drawing. He confirmed my home address and said that a representative would come to my home this Thursday, 2/4/2016, to deliver the check. I was not asked for personal information regarding my credit or bank account nos. or that I was required to pay any money up front.

My question is: Do they contact you ahead to tell you that you won an amount of money? Also, have you heard of any home invasion attempts by this apparent "scam"?

I received a call from a person named David Parker. He claims that he was calling from Publishers Clearing House and that I had won the grand price of 2.5 million dollars and a new car. That the call was not a joke, he was for real and kept asking me how I felt about being a winner. He said that my price would be delivered today between 9-10. He gave me a bogus check number 001100582 and said that I was chosen out of 150 people to win the grand prize. He said that it was part of an American Cash Award. He proceeded to explain what an American cash award was, saying that they got my name from where I shopped like Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target, Win Dixie and a few other places. Then he asked of I were close to a Winn Dixie or Wal-Mart, he ask how far away was I from them. I asked why he said that I needed to go secure my registration process with $235 dollars. I ask him why do I have to pay money to get money that I have won. I told him that did not make since and he said that is how it is. Once I secure my registration process with the $235 then they will deliver my 2.5 million and car. I told him that I was going to contact the BBB to report this scam and her proceeded to curse me out and call me other names.

A person named Bobby who claimed to be from the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes said that I won a check worth $1.5 million dollars. I told him that I'm not interested in his offer and hung up the phone. I would like for the ScamPulse.com to investigate this scam and prevent others from becoming victims.

That he was somewhere in Liberty Texas and the money would be coming to me by check cut from a Bank of America. I had to hurry so that I could deposit the check in my bank by that night . He asked if I was over the age of 18, if I had a valid ID, my martial status and if I wanted to announce my winning Privately or by some public Grand manor. He wondered what I would do with the money? I told him I had no idea. He told me that "His company would pay 99.5% of the tax on the sweepstakes winning but they required that I Pay 500.00 at which time they would put a gold stamp eagle on the check. I told him I can't sent the 500.00 and I'll just pay the tax via bank. He said that he had to collect the 500.00 from me that it's not taxed the same way and wanted to know how much could I raise. I told him none. He asked if I had any one I could borrow money from? I told him no. he told me I will forfeit my prize to the next in line. I told him to then give it to someone else. Received phone call 1/21/2016 around 12:15pm central time. The caller ID said Kingston, JM (876) 365-5829. He stated he was with Publisher's Clearing House and asked if I was the owner of this phone number. I didn't answer but asked how could I help him. He said ma'am if you're the owner of the phone you've won $100,000. I asked him to prove that, then he hung up. I called the number back and he answered Publisher's Clearing House, this is Mr. Johnson, how can I help you? I hung up, then I called back and got an automatic voicemail service. The man had just a little bit of an accent but not too strong.

I received a call from someone with a Jamaican (I think) accent saying his name was Ray Young. He said he was from Publisher's Clearing House and I had won 2nd prize ($850,000) and gave me the claim number of 260199. He had my name, address and phone number and seemed very charming. I was not sure so I called ScamPulse.com and they told me it was a scam.
