Publishers Clearing House Reports & Reviews – Page 74 (1700)

- Tokio, TX, USA

I received a phone call that I had won 3.5 million dollars and $10,000 per week for life and a voucher for a new car. They gave me a phone number to call in New York, 516-690-6303.  I called that number and they answered the phone as Publishers Clearing House Headquarters and gave me the address of 101 Winners Circle, zip code 20765.  That person gave me a verification code and claim # and told me to send $5,875.00 to Sid Shaheen at 4325 Park Stone Court in Abilene, Texas 79606. Then Mr. Shaheen would come with Publishers Clearing House to my home to deliver the prize and bring me all of the paperwork I needed to sign and a check to endorse FG for Federal Government.  I decided to check them out before I sent any money.

Was called and told that Publisher's Clearing House had a special drawing for senior citizens and the recipient has won $2,000,000. They were told to send $200 to cover fees then an additional $550 in money orders and now they are asking for $15,000 to pay taxes on the winnings.

I recd a call today from Publisher's Clearing House that I won $950,000 and a brand new Mercedes Benz. All I had to do was go to Walmart and purchase a moneygram for $1700 to pay for taxes (which is 1% of the prize). When the driver shows up at my house, all I had to do was give them the receipt for the moneygram in order to receive my prize. The man (with an accent) told me he was a Christian but I knew it was a scam.

Received a call from Publishers Clearing House asking me to meet at the WalMart in Idaho Falls. I said no then they asked me to meet them at Western Union. Promised me I had won a $900,000 prize. Mentioned a money order I would need to obtain.

David Diamond was the name he used, says you won money and a car and he uses profanity

I recd a call this morning at 10:00 AM and I spoke to Wayne Jefferson. He said he was w/Publisher's Clearing House and I won 5 million dollars but I had to send $159. Wayne had an accent and I couldn't fully understand why I had to send $159. He tried to explain but I still couldn't understand him. We both hung up. I'm sure this was a scam.

876 area code is in Jamaica.

The caller identified himself by James Holmes. He requested for $299 to be sent via Western Union and then I would receive $2 million dollars.

Caller said I won 1.5 million us dollars tax free & 2016 white mercedes. All I had to do was go to walmart and get a money gram card in the amount of $120 and someone would be out to deliver the check in about 20 minutes. They wanted my husband to stay home and they had my husband on the home phone while I was going to the store. Also had me on my cell phone while I was gone to the store saying that when I get the card that his boss would speak with me & would give me further instructions. Also told me that my husband would be the beneficiary while I was gone. I became more suspicious and went back home.

I received a call from this number on 5-14-16 at 10:42 am. He said he was with Publishers Clearing House and that I had won 8.4 million plus $7000 a week for the rest of my life . He said he had to fill out a form before we could proceed. I didn't give him any personal info, but he did ask how old I was and I told him. He told me they were going to send someone over to my house with the big check, so I asked him what address they were going to and he gave me a previous address. I told him I didn't live there anymore. He said we would update that in a minute. I told him that I needed some proof that this wasn't a scam and he got defensive and called me a liar. I told him I was going to report the number to the ScamPulse.com and he hung up. Although I didn't give him any PI, they seemed to have enough info that maybe just giving them my age is enough to steal my identity??

- Lehighton, PA, USA

I live in Lehighton, PA. Two days ago I got a call claiming to be Publishers Clearing House. I could hear someone in the background coaxing the speaker. When I questioned their validity, the man told me I was chosend because I pay my electric bill on time. Then he questioned me: You do pay your bill on time don't you? Again I could hear someone coaching the speaker who had a very heavy accent. I said, " If you chose me you must know the answer to that question." Then they tell me I won a large amount of money, 1.5 million. I told them to prove their validity again because the PCH usually surprises people at their door. They said they wanted to come to my house tomorrow at 1:30. They asked if I would be home at that time. I paused as they asked the same question about being home. At this time I had had enough and hung up. I didn't want to continue this scam. I don't know what they would have asked for next. They tried to call immediately agaim, but I did not answer. I could not trace the number because it read private caller. Why was I so cautious? Because my sister from Kunkletown, Pa just told me a very similar story just weeks earlier. She received a call and had won a car and , I beleive, 5 million. She too questioned the caller in depth. They actually asked for her address etc. Finally, she hung up, too.

A man whose name sounded like he was ssaying Mark Renfro called to say that my mother had won the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes for 2 and 1/2 million dollars and a 2016 Mercedes Benz. She asked how much money she had to give him, and he responded "$3000.00. She stated "this is a scam" and hung up.
