Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

I received a letter and a check for 6,877.54. The letter said I won the Publishers Clearing House. It said I won 1,500,000 (1 and a 1/2 million).

I called like the letter said and they told me to purchase a green dot money pak scratch card from CVS. Then she said she scheduled them to come out at 3:30 that same day to give me the money. I asked why she wanted green card and she said it and along with my drivers Lic. they could prove it was really me.

I called a CVS and the nice manager told me that these green dot cards were used in scams and to be careful. I spoke to Alison White and John Carpenter. At least thats what they called them themselves. There was a total of 14 calls in 2 days.

He said we should do a Walmart to Walmart transfer to claim the prize. He was targeting my mother who is a senior citizen. She talked to him for a bit and then I grabbed the phone and gave him hell.
