I was contacted by someone impersonating my friend. The impersonator gave me the contact information for the scammers. The scammers were relentless in calling me and contacting me. The impersonator still contacts me through messengers as frequently as last week...Jan 20, 2019.

My friend, who was impersonated, has confirmed she did not write or contact me through Facebook messenger. She has cancelled her Facebook account and no longer communicates through Facebook or Facebook Messenger.

He told me to contact a lawyer named Peter Miller who is with the Treasury Dept 202-866-7115. He asked me what I would do with the money. I said pay my bills and move out of Ohio. He said President Trump said we have to pay taxes on the money, specifically $1300 so they can do a background check on me. I asked why do I need a background check? He said why, are you worried what it will say? I said no, I dont have the money. He put me on hold. I could hear music in the background. And I hung up.

We received a call on our home phone today. The caller stated they were with Publishers Clearing House. He said I won 2.5 Million. $5000 a week and a Mercedes Benz. My wife spoke with a lady named Danielle Williams. Another representative was John Garth. We were to go to Wal Mart and send the $890 . We were to get a receipt. They did not say specifically how to send the money It is a requirement by IRS. We would get a refund when they brought us the money. They would personally deliver the prize money with their personal attorneys to make sure the paperwork was correct. The caller gave me two phone numbers 1-815-491-6716 and 1-876-868-7713. He said the US Marshall would be here when the prize was delivered. I knew it was a scam. I was skeptical. I'm not that lucky. When they asked for money I knew it was a scam. They also asked if we were seniors and if my wife was over 65. That tipped me off too.

I'm 74 yrs old. I got a call yesterday from Publisher's Clearinghouse that I won 5 million dollars. He called me four times. He said his name was John Baker. He asked me a lot of questions, including my social security number and debit card number which I gave him. He asked for my credit card number because he wanted to pay it off. He asked if I was married or single. He asked if I wanted to keep it private or published. He said they would come out to my house and give me the check. He was very nice. He told me he was a family man and that he understood. He had an accent. He kept telling me he had to get paperwork done and that I would have to talk to another lady as well. I thought it was real because I see it on TV all the time. Then he wanted me to pay $1000 so they could pay their people. That's when I thought something was up. I've always subscribed to Publisher's Clearinghouse. So, I called PCH this morning and told them about the call. They said they get a lot of calls like mine. I called the bank and canceled my debit card. I'm on a fixed income and that money was like a dream come true.
