I have received calls saying I need to claim my prize. They say it is legitimate and give me a package code of 1711 US. They gave me a phone number for his manager to prove legitimate. The number is (915) 261-0973. Can you tell me if this is a scam or not?

Thank you,

Bryan Holubowicz

I received a phone call from "Publishers Clearing House" stating that I had won a sweepstakes, they had my name and date of birth, and I answered yes to a question before I even realized, I tried telling them I wasn't interested. But I'm afraid they have my name, date of birth, and now a recording of me saying yes.

My 89 mother has been ordering stuff from Publisher's Clearing House as she receives MANY notices that she is in the finals - apprx. 5 pr 6 per day. She has been ordering monthly from them even though I have told her not to, it is a scam. on Dec 20th, she received a phone call from PCH telling her she won and would she like to save the taxes? She said yes and they told her if she would pay $80,000 she would....after being on the phone with them for over 40 minutes, she realized it was a scam.

I then called PCH to tell them to take my mother off ALL future mailings and she is not to receive ANY more info from them, after I explained the situation. They gave a canned answer that they cannot help what scammers do. I told them I do not play PCH and have never received a phone call from them telling me that I won....they disregarded that info.

My mother received another phone call this afternoon telling them that she won from the same guy - she recognized his voice. He also told her that she still owes money for the candy she has been ordering from PCH. How would they know that she has ordered candy if it is not someone who works at PCH. I called PCH and reported this info to them.

This has got to stop as they are taking advantage of elderly people.

What can be done?

I received a phone call from Publishers Clearing House that I won $880,000 and a new car.  So I gave them my address and other information how to get to my house.  Then they said all they needed for me to do is go pay the 1% of the winnings.  I have to go to the local Dollar General and buy a $300.00 gift card and send them the information once the the money is in and to call them back.  So I didn't go get the card but called back to the number since I kinda figured it was a scam by the phone number.  I use to work at AT&T and new that was a fake number.  But a person picked up the phone asking for the card number.  So I hung up and called BBB.

I got a phone call from Restricted. They left a message that they were Publishers Clearing House and that I was the winner of a million dollars and a brand new car. Instead of just calling the number given, I Googled it first. It said it was RNK INC.. I then Googled that.. nothing looked right, but I called the number to see what happened. No one answered. The voicemail said something about the Techmail subscriber is unavailable and to leave a message. I didn't leave a message. Lo and behold, within 5 minutes they called saying they were PCH again and did I get the message that I was a winner? I told them yes and that I called the number given. They asked if I left a message. I said "No, because it didn't sound like PCH." They promptly hung up on me. Plus, they had Indian accents.

I got a call from a man with Publisher's Clearing House saying that I won $2 million and a convertible. I asked how they got my information because I had not ever signed up and he told me that it was because I am an American citizen with good credit. I hung up on him because I knew it was a scam.

I got a call from a "Jerry ***" with an East Indian accent telling me that I had won 5.5 million dollars, and a Mercedes convertible. In order to get the winnings, I was supposed to pay $1500.

"Today is your lucky day and you have just won $$$ & a Mercedes". He told him to go to his home phone bc he wanted to collect his $90 as a result of him picking up his "land line" and give them the pin # he verbally gave him. Our caller thought he was getting a call from someone and he answered and it was the PCH guy and he was upset with our caller. There was a baby crying in the background. Caller called the 916-237-0204 from his cell (a Tennessee #) and he said he "wasn't eligible since he was calling from a Tennessee phone #". Verizon then sent him a message that since he called an "international phone #" (916-237-0204) he could get a "plan" for making these calls.

John Carter called and said I won 2.5 million dollars and a Mercedes Benz. I asked how I would get the car, and he said it would be delivered to my home. He asked if I was working. He said my prayers had been answered. Then he asked what i would do with the money. He asked if I was buying or renting. He asked if I wanted to keep it private, if not it would be on the 9 o'clock news. He said I needed to go to Walmart and buy a $325 Vanilla card for the taxes. he said he worked for State to State Lottery for Publishers Clearing House. He said to call him back at 601-473-0924 when I get the card. He had an accent. I'm 77 years old.

I received a letter in the mail the morning of 12/12/19 from Publisher's Clearinghouse from MMG LLC PO Box 7290 New York, NY 10030. There is a check he told me to take to the bank and deposit as soon as possible. The check is for $8,697.76 to pay something (probably the taxes). They said in the letter I had won $2.7 million. The name on the check says land development.com 5648 Franklin Pike Circle Brentwood, TN (left hand top corner) the bank is CB&S Bank in Murfeesboro, TN (a little more than half way across the top of check). Check number is 8602. The letter prompts to call Danny Clark before I do anything and please discuss and advise your agent the most convenient payment arrangement. It is company policy to keep your letter and case private, confidential to avoid double or false claims the letter says.I called 917-829-7607 Danny Clark answered Publisher's Clearinghouse. He said to take check to bank as soon as possible and call him right back and tell him I already took care of it. At that point, I hung up the phone and called BBB.

I received a message on my home answering machine. It sounded like a recording. They identified themselves as being with Publishers Clearing House. Caller stated I won $2.5 million. Contacted by Billy Washington telling me I won the Publishers prise. I didn't believe it so they wanted to pay off my truck. $14,086.41. He gave me an account with Wells Fargo to pay off my truck. Route # 107002192 acct #3837209877. They didn't want any information about the loan. I called the bank and they said the loan could be paid off at 4:00. This hooked me. They then wanted me to open a new account at the bank of my choice so they could put my winnings in and pay the taxes from. When they asked for a pin # I finally figured it was a scam. Shame on me for being so gullible.

Consumer received a check in the mail for $5,821 from Scammers, claiming to be Publishers Clearing House and telling the consumer they are a second place prize winner of $500,000. The scammers letter told consumer to use the $5,821 check to pay for insurance and attorney fees.

A friend was told she received $100,000 free from Publisher Clearing House. She stated that she didn't even have to pay it back. Said she saw my name on the list of recipients when her check was delivered to her. She gave me the number to call and told me to text them. Said they would get back to me immediately. Well, they did and were very pushy about me giving them my information. After checking with the ScamPulse.com I politely declined their offer. They were even more insistent that they were legitimate. See photos of their texts for details.
