Similar to one previously reported. Same name Debra Hollins claiming to be an agent from Publishers Clearing House

I received a telephone call from Debra Hollins claiming to be an agent from Publishers Clearing House informing me that I had won $7,000 a week for life, plus a bonus of $150,000 and a 2023 Mercedes Benz car. She also used the following telephone number 844-621-2184 to contact me. I was told by her to ask for a password which she provided as M11cd to anyone who contacted me in the future in regards to my winning prizes. During our initial conversation, she asked me if I had received a letter from Publishers Clearing House in this matter. I said I never received any such letter. Debra Hollins then replied that two letters were sent and blamed the postal service for them getting lost; which she said was a release letter to accept the prize winnings.

Elderly woman was telephoned by someone purporting to be from Publishers Clearing House, saying she had won $2.5 million. They emailed a photo of a man holding a check for that amount made out to her. Then they mailed a check for $9,850.10 with instructions to call the "Claims Manager" for instructions on how to deposit the money and that this amount would cover insurance and attorney fees. The victim's children intercepted the check before she could do this and reported the incident. They also asked for and got her credit card number and attempted to charge several large amounts; however, the children intercepted this also and canceled the card before the charges cleared.

I was informed via phone that I was selected as First Prize winner of 7 million 500 thousand dollars and a Ten Thousand dollars prize per week from cash-for-life promotion.

They sent me a 3 page email from a Ms. Davidson I believe telling about the prize but to not disclose it to anyone! Further they wanted me to open a checking account and not disclose to the bank what it was for! Then he (James) the so called agent said he would send me the details & documents to fill out tomorrow 6/24/1025. This is turning outto be exactly the same thing a previous complainant filed!!!

My mom received an email from someone claiming to be from PCH. Supposedly, she won a 2025 S 500 Mercedes and $3.5 million. I was suspicious of this from the start because of the email and when you scroll all the way to the bottom, there was a message stating in order to receive the prize, you needed to settle wirh IRS. Red flag #2. This person wanted her to go to dollar store to purchase a green dot card. I'm still trying to figure out how much money she gave because i think she's too ashamed to admit she was scammed. I know she was.

Letter saying I was one of the lucky winners of a lump sum payment of $1,950,00,00 from the Publishers Clearing House. I was told to call 1-866-393-3722 because the money is "awaiting remittance into your designated bank account." The letter arrived with a stamp on the envelope, and a letter clearly not produced by a corporate entity. I also received a text message with the same information.

On May 12, 2025, I received a phone call from James Wynter, who stated that he was calling on behalf of Reader's Digest and Publisher's Clearing House. He stated that I had been chosen as the winner of their sweepstakes. He told me that I had won 8.5 million dollars, a 2026 Mercedes-Benz, and a $500,000.00 life insurance policy. Mr. Wynter said that I did not have to pay anything to get my prize. Later that day, he called back and said that I needed to purchase a $150.00 Green Dot card to verify my prize. He stated that the prizes would be delivered the next morning. I purchased the $150.00 Green Dot card and gave him the information. The next day, he did not show up, but he kept calling me and saying that they are getting the paperwork done before the prizes could be delivered. On May 14, 2025, Mr. Wynter called and wanted me to pay $100.00 for an IRS stamp. He called me later that same day and told me that I would not have to pay the $100.00 because that has been taken care of. On May 16, 2025, Mr. Wynter called and wanted me to pay $1800.00 for storage of the Mercedes-Benz. I told him that I did not have $1800.00. He called me later the same day and said that he got a sponsor to help with some of the cost, but I would have to pay $150.00. I told him that I did not have the $150.00 either. On May 18, Mr. Wynter called me and wanted me to buy $50.00 worth of Bitcoin through my Cash App account and send it to him. He said that this would be the last thing that I would have to do. I purchased $50.00 worth of Bitcoin through my Cash App account and sent it to him. He said that he would be delivering the prizes on May 19, 2025, between 12 pm and 2 pm. Mr. Wynter called me on May 19, 2025 about 1:30 pm. He stated that he was waiting for the rest of the paperwork to be printed up, but the systems were down, and had been down for a couple of hours. He said that he would keep me posted. I have not heard from him since.

Dave Sawyers gave prize confirmation#39313007US. Prize was $8 million to be paid $7 thousand per week for life, plus a 2023 Lincoln Navigator

He asked me if I wanted Public or Private Delivery of prize. I told him Public and he became angry and would not agree to Public. Said it had to be Private to protect me. Delivery was to be today between 3pm and 4pm. I told him I didn’t want it because it was a scam so take my name off his list. I asked him how I won something I had not entered. He replied it was undelivered prizes from when I entered 30 years ago. He then told me I needed to go to Dollar General Store to purchase some gift cards I told him no. He gave me his supervisor name and number, Reynold Dawson, 918-480-3851 to call and confirm it was not a scam. I hung up and called no one else. He kept calling back all afternoon

I was sent a letter claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House and Deborah Holland, Executive VIce President. On the right side of the letter typed in bold print was: Claim Number: CAF 066, Batch; AZ/1019/UC, Type of Entry: Credit Card Promo/Subscrition. The letter was addressed to me, as **** ********* ** ** *** ***** ******* ** ***** and dated April 4th, 2025. The letter stated that I had won $750,000. A check from Greater New York Insurance Co, located at 150 5th Ave. 7th Floor, New York, NY 10128 was inclosed for the amount of $8,900.35. The letter stated that they had many post winning services such as financial and legal advisors that could assist me in managing my winning. The letter said my entry into sweepstakes/ lottery was based on cross-promotion by marketing companies through Credit Card expenditures, past subscriptions and in-store rebates in North America. The letter stated the following: Payment Arrangemet: Your payment will be processed and must be forwarded to you by the payout department within five business days. Contact our branch office at (1-646-262-5320) and speak to your claims agent (Mr. Rolland Cook) for metod of payment. The letter then stated: Important. (The word Important was typed in bold type and underlined.) Below that heading was written the following: You are required by the international Sweepstakes by law to pay towards taxes, handling and processing fees. Enclosed is your sponsorship check to assist you with out of pocket expenses. Please cotact your agent for further details. The final paragraph stated the following: Please be advised, do not take any further action until you have contacted your claims agent (Mr. Rolland Cook) Please keep this award letter strictly confidential until your cash prize winngs have been processed and remitted to your designated account. It is company policy to keep this letter and your cash prize winnings confidential to avoid double or false claims. The letter was signed Deborah Holland, Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes, Deborah Holland, Exectutive Vice president . On the lower right side was typed: HOURS OF OPERATION, Office Opened: Monday to Friday 9am-6pmm, Saturday 10am-3pm, Closed Public Holiday and Sunday, Tel; 1-646-262-5320. At the very bottom of the letter typed in very small faint print were the words: GLOBAL OFFICES: NORTH & SOUTH AMERICA, ASIA, & EUOPE. Below that in small letters but bold text was typed: The Natioanal Lottery and in very faint small print phc.com. At first glance, the letter looks quite professional, but there are small errors. The letter was dated April 4th 2025, but the post office stamp was Atlanta GA RPDC 302 and dated 11 April 2025. I picked up this letter from my post office box last Thursday (April 17, 2025). My first thought was, "This has to be a scam." But the check looked very official. The date of the letter (April 4th, 2025) and the Atlanta GA postmarked date of 11 April 2025 raised some questions. Also, my name on record with PCH has been both **** *** ****, but I had notified them that **** ***** ********* was my legal name ony birth certificate and not **** *********. That check looked very real, but it was my understanding that PCH reqired legal proof of identity for big winners before announcing winners. There were too many questions in my mind. But that legal looking check was so tantalizing that I couldn't ignore it. I decided to check it out. This morning I tried calling PHC and finally went online to PHC sweepstakes. I was not listed as a winner. I then called the two numbers listed in the letter.

Neither number was active. Please let others know about this. I would hate for someone to be duped into releasing account information in the belief they were a sweepstakes winner and as a consequence lose their savings. I had purchased PCH items and subscriptions and entered many of their sweepstakes. That previous activity on my part, gave credibility and weght to the letter. I feel I need to do something with this letter and check, that others who might be more vulnerable will not be preyed on. Thank you for allowing me to share my experience.
